The bridle that has constrained you grows tighter and tighter. Bite through it while there is still a chance to be free of unjust restraint. Stand up for yourself. Act not out of a spirit of revenge or anger, but simply to assert your true self and its needs.

(Q) Should the body be guided by suggestions made by relatives and friends? or follow his own ideas in spite of everything?

(A) If that towards ideas are in keeping with the ideals, follow those. Have ideals, not ideas! Ideas may be as thoughts, made criminal or miracles. Be sure the ideal is proper. Follow that irrespective of outside influence. Know self is right, and then go straight ahead. So live each and every day that you may look any man in the face and tell him to go to hell! 1739-6

. . . there is produced by same humbleness—not as has been in some instances in the entity’s self—not the lording of others. For as He gave, who was, who is, who ever will be the manifestation of the Spirit—which is true psychic force—he that will be the greatest will be the servant of all. Not necessarily being as a doormat, but ever willing, ever helpful—but to the glory of God, to the honor of self. Not to the glory of self in any manner or way, but in humbleness preferring one another. 3548-1

(Q) At this time, is there anything else that you would care to say to me about the past, present or future?

(A) So live and so act with self as to be able to look every man or individual in the face and tell him to "Go to hell"; or so act, in that way and manner that there is known within self that there is that activity which cannot be questioned, either by the superior or by the office boy, or by the drayman. So act, in that way and activity of forces, that that as is done becomes a living example of that that the body would present to its Creator; not being ashamed of that which it acts upon, through or how, but in a way acceptable to self, to God—to thy Creator! 270-28

(Q) Is there any advice for greater development of character?

(A) Study to know thyself in relationship to that ye choose as thy ideal. And let that ideal be set in Him, who is the way, the truth and the light.

This does not mean becoming goody-goody, no—far from it! Be able to look everyman in the face and tell him to go to hell—but live as He did, the lovely Nazarene! 2869-1

The entity because of his indecisions at times allows others to take advantage of him. The entity must learn to be self-assertive; not egotistical but self-assertive—from a knowledge of the relationship of self with the material world. 3018-1
