The Judiciary system of the LoTA is not democratic. There are no commitees, no courts with juries on them, and no appeal processes. Only the Judge Advocates sit in supreme judgement on all members of the LoTA. Reversal of sentences are extremely rare. A member either minds the laws or they are punished. Sentencing is immediate and binding for all races. This is to ensure the good order of the forum. No activity will be tolerated that disrupts the flow of forum system of government.
Should any member or a guild be accused of misconduct
and these charges are shown to be true, then the member or guild's GC will be notified in writing by the Judge Advocates of the findings and penalties.
The JAs are seated permanantly and are appointed and/or removed by the Emporor(ess), the High Chancellor, and the Vice Chancellor of the LoTA.
LoTA Black Hoods:
The Black Hoods of the LoTA are those that carry out sentences of death on the member and act only on orders from the Judge Advocates. If a character refuses to acknowledge the Black Hoods, they will be shunned in the lands of the LoTA.
If the member is ordered to a DM by
a Black Hood, they can not refuse. Refusal is an auto-death by that member and the member will not be allowed a rezz.
The Terms of the Black Hood Death Sentence DM are:
1. Profile swipe for the member.
2. No Rezz rites.
3. Member uses LoTA guild/forum dice to 10 rounds.
4. All other rules for the standard DM will be in effect.
5. All forum Black Hoods carry the maximum allowed enhancers and will use them in the Death Sentence DM.
6. Black Hoods will carry dice up to but not exceeding d120 and will use them for the purpose of carrying out the sentences of the JAs.
~ At no time will a Black Hood use Death Sentence dice in any other activity in the forum.
