Hello again...updates!

Hello again,

In my last/first post to this blog I stated that I was done going to school and having babies and wanted to give more time to this group and crafting. Well I AM done having babies, but I went back to school. I never thought I would go back so soon, but there's no time like the present I guess. I am working toward a Masters in Education and California teaching credentials. I am doing well so far. I just finished my second class, and am now on a much needed two week break.

My goal still remains the same though; to give Crafting From The Heart more time and effort and begin to build us back up.

I have updated our current charity list.  We will be sponsoring Precious Rewards, a non-profit organization in Indiana, which helps new moms who may be struggling. They conduct fundraising and use those monies to buy baby items and give the items away to new Mom's. They operate a store front as well.  My best friend is involved with the group and will be providing me with more specifics soon.  We look forward to helping them by donating hand made baby blankets, booties and hats.

Thank you for checking out our site and I would love to have you join us.

Have a great day!

New Year - New Beginning

Today is January 15th, 2009.  It has been a long time since I have been able to give this group the time it deserves.  As a matter of fact, I have not been able to give this group any time for a couple of years. Thanks to a few very giving and dedicated group members Crafting From The Heart is still in existence.

Shortly after the new year began I received a wonderful article from Eunice Halbedel, an amazing group member, written about one of the charities we sponsor. The Pauline Forcier Mitten Tree, named after my Grandmother. She donated to the tree in Jaffrey, NH for many years until her passing. Every year shd would donate many, many pairs of mittens.  The year before her passing I think she donated upwards to 80 pairs of mitten that one year alone.  After she passed away, the church dedicated the tree to her. Late in 2008 the local newspaper in Jaffrey featured an article on the tree and this group.  I was touched by the article and reinspired to start crafting and giving again.  I always feel such a sense of accomplishment and goodness when I craft for charity.  The same feelings I am sure my Grandmother felt as well.  It is as if I feel her inside me when I am crocheting or knitting for charity.  I will post the article to the site as soon as I can.

So, now that I have finished school, and am done having babies :) I have made one of my New Years resolutions to jumpstart CFTH and begin giving again.  I have already made contact with the next charity whom I would like to sponsor, Boston Children's Hospital. This hospital was the first charity we sponsored, and so I figured it would be a terrific place to start with again.

We also have several ongoing charities such as the Pauline Forcier Mitten tree which we sponsor.  I will update the site with those asap.

I look forward to the coming year and all that this group will be able to do.
