Archangel's Home Page

I've moved my homepage to http:www.geocities.com/Heartland/Ridge/2414. I'll keep this one here, but only plan on updating that one, so go take a look! *smiles*

Greetings in the name of my (our?) Lord and Savior - Jesus.

Hello, my name is Daniel Worthington. I'm also known as Archangel_II (or Christian Gentleman) to many people on the net, but you can call me Daniel. :-) Shall we continue?

I guess I should tell a bit about myself... (this site IS supposed to be about me and my interests, after all!!) Well, I'm a 23 yr old, single, male soldier (of both the Lord's AND the American Army) stationed at Ft Riley, KS. I have two primary interests - Jesus Christ and Science Fiction/Fantasy (in that order.) I'll talk about each in turn. Oh, and if you'd like to see what I look like, click here. It's a picture of my family.

If the above wasn't enough about me to satisfy you, then you can click here to see my bio page. (be kind as it's still under construction!) ;-)

I am a Jesus Freak

I have been a follower of my Lord since I was about 8 yrs old. That is not to say that I have not stumbled along the way, just that I have always let God pick me back up and I have pushed forward again. I have learned at least one important thing since giving my life to Him, and that is that the whole point of Christianity is to have a personal relationship with God. That is what it's all about. I once had a youth pastor explain this in an interesting way that I'm gonna repeat here.

He said: "Picture yourself in the ruins of your life. You have no more possessions, no more friends, no more religions and denominations, no more Bible, no more of anything. As you look out over the wasteland that was your life, there's just you and Jesus standing there. At that point, are you going to see an old friend... or a complete stranger. If you see a friend, you are golden. If you see a stranger, you need to ask yourself now, while you are able to change things, how you can see Him as a friend. Because that is how it will be when you die."

There is more to Christianity (would that life could ever be that simple!), but that sums up the core of it rather well, I think. Oh, and if your curious - my response would be to run up and give Him a BIG hug. Y'see, if I have Jesus, I have everything I ever desire. :-)

If you are interested in my testimony, then click on it and you'll see it! I'm warning you, however - it's kinda long...

I'm interested in Science Fiction/Fantasy

I've always been interested in Science Fiction/Fantasy. (I think it's partially from being raised by a father who also loves Science Fiction - though he's not to big on the Fantasy stuff.) For those of you that would like a distinction - Science Fiction is based on science. It is (usually) intelligent, well thought out stories. Fantasy, on the other hand, is based on magic. The fantastic and impossible often and do happen with no other explaination than magic. That is not to say that Fantasy is necessarily not intelligent, nor that it is a bad thing to read purely entertaining stories. That is just a general breakdown.

My Science Fiction favorites are: TV Show - Babylon5 (closely followed by the X-Files) ; Movie - DEFINATELY the Star Wars Trilogy! (especially the Special Edition! *wink*) Author - Timothy Zahn

My Fantasy favorites are: TV Show - Hercules (only due to lack of any real competition) ; Movie - Ladyhawk (followed closely by Monty Python & the Holy Grail) ; Author - Robert Jordan

My Related Christian favorites are: TV Show - Touched by an Angel ; Movie - the Stand (though it isn't 100% accurate, theologically speaking, it is still good.) ; Author - Frank E. Perretti (if you haven't read it, run out and get "This Present Darkness" NOW!! Trust me - it's THAT good!)

My Miscellaneous Section

I decided to add this section for things that either have nothing to do with Christianity or Science Fiction/Fantasy, or have to do with both! This section will be under construction for a while - so please be patient! :-)

Miscellaneous Links:

Friends and Family (not MCI, but MY friends and family - those on the net, anyway.)

the 23rd Psalm - Revised (I liked this because, though it's humorous, it still retains it's truth.)

If you would be so kind as to sign my guestbook, so that I can know what people think of this page, it'd be much appreciated. Oh, but please don't swear - thanks. :-)
