Local Area Pictures

Theses are pictures of Port Aux Basques and the surrounding areas.

This is the community of LaPoile, It's a small isolated community on the southern coast of Newfoundland. I love it down there. I go down there with my girlfriend to visit her parents. It is only accessible by boat which takes about 1½ - 2 Hrs. On the way down it is very possible you will see caribou on the barren shoreline. You also see alot of waterfowl and in the winter your gauranteed to see lots of Turrs. It's a nice place with great fishing and is worthwhile to go see.

This is an older picture of the McDouglas trussel, as you can see the train tracks are still there and so is the old pole-line.

This is another picture from the shores of McDougals beach. This is one of thousands of bunches of these flowers along the shore there. I believe they are called Purple Iris. If I am Wrong , oh well.
