NEWISH NEWS Collective Soul is coming out with a greatest hits album on September 18th, featuring two new tracks

The Gods of music, and my favorite band... they are your favorite band, too, aren't they? Aren't they?!!? Of course they are

The Band

Ed Roland: vocals, keyboards, guitars
Dean Roland: rhythm guitar
Ross Childress: lead and rhythm guitars, vocals
Will Turpin: bass, percussion
Shane Evans: drums, percussion

These boys from Georgia were best friends growing up, and formed a band together, calling it Collective Soul after a something in a book where everyone had the same soul, and the same ideas, and no creativity. Of course the name was meant to be interpreted however you wish. They probably wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for their song "Shine" going to number one. Infact, they had their first hit before they even had a record company. Although they quickly hooked up with one when they realized playing their songs on the radio probably wasn't a good idea without it. So their first album (hints allegations and things left unsaid) was mostly a collection of songs they hadn't even inteded to put on a cd. Even so, it's great. All of them are!They are in the band to have fun, and make the music they love, ask them what rock and roll is about, they'd tell you it was to have a great time. So far they have five albums out (hints allegations and things left unsaid, self titled, Disciplined breakdown, dosage, and their newest realease blender) and I can't wait until the next one, be ready to hear some songs about morrocco after their experience with music in high places, where they went to Morrocco and played on location in a lot of beautiful places.
