FRONTENAC FLYERS JUNIOR HOCKEY The season for the Flyers has started and the boys played a excellent game against the ever powerful Napanee Raiders. Spotting the Raiders three goals and then coming back to win in overtime is not easy, but with a lot of hard work and desire they showed it could be done. Having the stands full of Flyers faithful was a big help, I'm sure none went home dissapointed. This season the league looks like it is going to be very close all season long, how the teams do playing the interlock will be very important. Jamie being very aware the Flyers need to improve their talent to compete just announced the signing of Kirk Dillion. Kirk adds a tremendous amount of speed to the Flyers and with the likes of Matt Lowe, Cory Thompson, Derrick Mack, Matt Feeley and Alex Bowes the Flyers should not only be one of the hardest hitting team in the league, but also as fast as the other teams. The coaching staff has asked the players for a strong commiment to the Flyers. Ryan said recently; there is too much talent available if a player is not committed to come to practises and does not buy into what they are trying to accomplish, that being to finish in first place and win the Empire B Championship. He has challenged all players to come along and enjoy the experience, needless to say he has played on many winning teams. So far even though the season is very early and there will be many peaks and valleys the boys seem to be enjoying themselves and have accepted the challenge. The Flyers next home game will probably be one of these challenges. Word has it the Campbellford Rebels are very solid team with excellent goaltending, the Flyers will need to ready if they want to win. Again, remeber the alumni game against the Ottawa Senators, Brad Marsh says he is bringing a strong team and the Flyers alumni better be ready. The game is scheduled for the afternoon of October 21st followed by the Flyers playing against the Amherstview Jets. Remember this Sunday 3.15pm the Flyers take on the Campbellford Rebels at home. See you at the arena!!!!!!!!!1
