FRONTENAC FLYERS JUNIOR HOCKEY Flyers are on a roll picking up seven out of eight points and are playing today against the Ganonque Islanders. You might know by now that I'm writing this early as will be heading to Ardock road again to try to get that trophy deer. Had a great first week, no deer for me but our gang got three bucks and one doe. I did see a cow and calf moose about twenty five yards from me, wondered what was coming for a while quite impressive sight and sound wish I had brought the camera. Back to hockey, the Flyers recently signed defenceman Nick Kirpatrick who is no relation to Jamie. They had planned on bringing him on slowly as he had not played for a year, but with suspensions and injuries have been using him full time. He has played very well and has filled a big hole on defense. The play of the goaltenders has been a pleasure again to see Rob is back playing the way everyone knew he could, missing tryouts and exhibition did hurt for a awhile. B.J. has continued to play well and is leading the league for least goals against, Ryan is in a great position to be able to go for either goalie and know the job will be done. No team in our league has two better goalies. There is no question the Flyers lacked scoring and Ryan felt the capability of the forwards they had the scoring would eventually come. Cory Thompson started to roll and started to fill the net, shortly followed by Matt Lowe. Now all lines are rolling, thus the reason they have moved up in the standings. This week the Flyers are back playing teams in our own league and Sunday 3.15pm will be playing the Picton Pirates. They too have been on a roll with Shane Cutler leading the way. This is a very important game for the Flyers so should be exciting. See you at the arena!!!!!!!!!!
