p.e.

The worst period of a school day for most kids is Math. Not for me. Math is second in my book, and P.E. is first. Yep, Physical Education. First, I have to enter this dreaded locker room that smells like sweat, perfume, and curling irons. I have to unlock my "basket" and pull out my clothes. We are forced to wear black shorts and red shirts. We have seven minutes each day to get dressed. Then we must sit in our "squads" (lines of people) in the gym. For warm ups, we first jog around for one minute. Then we stretch our legs. Then we do butterflies. We put our right leg over our left, then left over right. Then these weird things called "leg pullovers." After that, we do ten sit ups and ten push ups. It isn't too hard, just incredibly boring. Now, if it's Monday or Wednesday, we jog the mile. We jog (outside) a quarter mile, walk a quarter mile, jog a half mile (almost), walk for like two seconds, then jog the rest. It is quite annoying. We have to jog even if it is windy, even if it is raining. The only instances where we can jog inside (which is even more of a pain than it's worth) is when it's either snowing or thundering. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, we have activity days. Those aren't so bad, because we just play sports. But if you knew me, you'd know I'm not a big sports fan. After P.E., which lasts 45 minutes, we have seven more minutes to get dressed in our normal clothes. The fashion queens stand in front of the mirror, brushing their hair and applying their make-up. Is it so bad that all I do is get a drink of water and glance at my reflection?
