I like the way you wanted me
Every night for so long baby
[Out of the corner of his eye, Heero observes Duo gazing at him wistfully; just as the long-haired boy does every night when he thinks that his partner is preoccupied by information scrolling across his laptop’s screen.]
I liked the way you needed me
Every time things got rocky
[Heero carries a semi-conscious Duo into their shared room and gently lowers him to the bed, pulling the covers over his bruised body.]
I was believing in you
Am I mistaken do you say,
[Heero gives in to his conflicting emotions and wraps his powerful arms around Duo’s waist, while Duo tilts his head forward to claim Heero’s mouth in a passionate kiss.]
Do you say what you mean

[They lie entangled in each others’ embrace. Heero feels his heart swell with unfamiliar feelings, when Duo whispers, “I love you,” just before he falls asleep.]

[Heero watches his lover interact with the other pilots and wonders why Duo has chosen him... how Duo could profess love every night as they lay sated from hours of lovemaking.]

In the middle of the night
While you were sleeping
[Heero wakes from hearing his name murmured by Duo, who smiles down at him with a playful gleam in his eyes.]

[Heero welcomes Duo’s flirtations with a slight smile, and shuts his laptop down to head into the bathroom where Duo is already undressed and starting the water for a shower.]

[Heero finally accepts his feelings for Duo, coming to the understanding that Duo is more than just a lover. Duo means the world to him.]

[While Heero waits for his lover to return from a mission, he realizes the depth of his emotions for Duo and wonders if Duo truly feels the same or if... ]

[Heero slips into the safehouse that Duo is using for his current mission, intending to surprise him... when his gaze falls upon Duo nestled against Wufei. Heero’s fragile heart shatters at the sight of his lover curled around another.]

[Why did you lead me on, Duo? Why did I let you into my heart?]
I’d rather hear the truth and have to say goodbye
[It would have been better if you had admitted it was only lust, instead of saying that you loved me.]
I’d rather take a blow at least then I would know
[How could you drag me along and not break it off... I could’ve handled this situation much better if you had been honest up front.]

[But instead, I find out like this... seeing you entangled with someone else, when you are suppose to be in love with me.]

[Heero turns away from Duo, his ex-lover, and closes off the part of his heart that belonged to him. He walks away from the safehouse. You meant everything to me... and now I have only my missions once again.]
