Labrador City, incorporated in 1961,is a town of some 9000+ people. Located in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, the main industry in Labraodor City is mining.
The main mineral mined is hematite or iron ore.The open pit mine, operated by IOCC, employs many of the towns people and is the largest iron ore mine in North America.
