Getting There

Labrador City is located in Western Labrador of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is accesible by planes, trains, and automobiles.

You can fly into to Wabush airport, which is only a 2 minute drive from Labrador City. It's expensive though, a ticket with no seat sale will cost in excess of $1400 (yes thats right!).

By road, Labrador City is accesible by Route 389 through Baie Comeau, Quebec. The highway is half pavement and half dirt road and is about 600 km. Don't let the dirt road scare you, it's well kept and one can drive in excess of 80km. The ride from Baie Comeau to Labrador City is about 8 hours with two gas stops at half way and 2/3 the way. There is also the Trans Labrador Highway (Route 500)from Labrador City to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, but its pretty bad and not recommended for cars.

You can also get to Labrador City by catching the Q.N.S.&L. train in Sept. Iles, Quebec. It's equipped to take vehicles so no worries about renting a car.
