Chrono Trigger Walkthrough

This walkthrough is original and written by me only to help others. It is a description on how to get through the game from start to finish. I should also point out that I avoided posting spoilers or anything related to the story, for those of you who like to figure the plot out as you go. It is simply a reference for those who don't know what to do next. Should you want information on the story, check out the storyline section. If there is an item or other you cannot find, you should check out the armor/weapon/accessory section. You will not find its location here. For bosses that are problematic, see my boss section. Boss info is not posted here either. Please do not post this walkthrough in any other place claiming it is yours. You may create links to this site, however. OK, enough with the legal stuff, here is the walkthrough:

This walkthrough is still in progress.

You start off in your room in your house in 1000 AD, Truce Village after you choose the game settings and name the main hero. Head downstairs after your mother and she will tell you about your inventor friend which you will now have the opportunity to name. After she finishes, talk to her again and she will give you some money for the fair. Leave your house. Now here you have a few choices. You can check out the town, head for the fair, level up in the forest, or go to the Mayor's house in the village. If you would like to learn the game basics so you won't be confused later on, head for the Mayor's house. Here you can talk to the people to get info on different aspects of the game. Talk to the Mayor upstairs and get his advice. After you do this, if you talk to him again, he gives you some money. Now head for the fair. There are many things here you can do for fun, but I recommend sticking to business as they will still be there later on in the game. Head up to the next screen where you will notice a girl who is walking back and forth. Bang into her and she will drop her pendant. Return it to her and she will ask you to show her around. You will now receive the opportunity to rename her, if you wish, and she will join your party. Now head down to the first place that you entered when you came to the fair. Talk to the girl leaning against the fountain. She will tell you that Lucca's device is all set up. Head back where you came from and you will notice that the place that used to be blocked by the two boys at the end of the square is now open. Head up through the new opening. Marle will stop for some candy so just wait a while. Before you know it you will be on your way again. When you arrive in the next area, talk to Lucca and then step on the left pad like she tells you to. After you reappear, talk to Marle. She will try it to only her pendant will end up reacting an the machine will malfunction, throwing her into the gate. After you witness her disappearance, pick up the pendant which she left behind on the pad. Lucca and Taban will then use the machine to transport you to wherever Marle disappeared to.

You will exit the portal in a little clearing. Walk to the left and you will battle some Blue Imps. After the battle, continue to your left. Follow along the trail, fighting enemies as you encounter them. After a short time, you should get through the canyon. You will end up on a map screen similar to that of Truce 1000 AD, but slightly different. If you want, you can explore around, and buy some armor or weapons at the shop. Then continue along your route towards Guardia Forest, north of town. In the forest, keep going up, fighting whatever you meet along the way till you arrive at the end, which leads to the castle. Enter the castle. You will be stopped by guards, but a strangely familiar person will tell the guards to let you pass. Now you can explore the castle. There are some treasure chests that you can get as well as some interesting conversations to listen to. To continue on with the main game action, head into the throne room, which is straight up from the entrance, and go up the stairs to your right. At the top the queen who looks familiar will be waiting for you. Talk to her and she will disappear. Head back down the stairs where you came from. On the main floor, you will meet up with Lucca. She will explain what is going on. Then she will join your group. Leave the castle.

I recommend leveling up a bit here and learning some techniques before you continue. After you have done this, leave Guardia Forest and head for the building to the left of town. This is the Cathedral. Walk up to the alter. You will notice something sparkling right in front of it. Press "A" to pick it up. Lucca comment and the friendly-looking nuns will turn into monsters! Fight them and afterwards another monster will appear and attack Lucca. Then a stranger will appear and save the both of you. This guy looks like a frog. Agree for him to join the party and you will get the chance to name him. He tells you to look for a hidden door somewhere in the cathedral. Go to the organ and play it by pressing "A". A door will then appear opposite the organ. Enter this door. Walk in the next room and go left. Enter the door that you come to at the end of the hall. In the next room, go up the stair case in front of you and enter the first door. Get the treasure chests here and press "A" on the drawer to get the Nagetta's Bromide. Henchs will appear to stop you so kill them. Then leave the room. Now go up from the room you were just in and you will see a door blocked off by spikes. Press "A" on the skeleton button on the wall and it will open. Inside you can talk to the prisoners and grab the power tab in the bucket. Then leave. Go back down the staircase that you came up to get to the last series of rooms. Go up the staircase opposite the one you just came down. The first door you come to you ddon't need to go in, but if you want a laugh, go ahead. Enter the next door you come to. You will be surprised to find more humans inside. Go right even if it looks like you can't. You will enter the secret Magus Room. Get the treasure, fight the monsters and leave. Exit the room that you end up in after leaving the Magus Room. You will have to fight a few badies before you leave, but it is no big deal. Now leave that side of the stairwell. When you arrive on the main floor. Go straight up through the two stairwells and enter the door at the end of the hall. Now you have a choice, you can turn either left or right. It doesn't matter which way really since on path leads to the other. Follow your chosen route till you find a skull on the wall like the one in front of the room where you seen the soliders. Press "A" andd keep going. Eventually you'll loop around and see another skull on the wall. Press "A" on this one too. Continue and you will end up in the room where you chose to go either left or right. Now enter the door that leads ahead in this room. The spikes the previously blocked the organ will be gone so after you defeat the Mystics in the room, play the organ. Now return to the choice room and go either left or right. Keep going till you see a new door next to the piece of paper you may have noticed eariler on the wall. Enter this new room and keep going straight. You will have to fight a bunch of enemies on the way, but after you are finished, keep going straight. Eventually you will reach a door on the far side of the hall. Enter this area, and go forward to the alter to find Queen Leene and her captor, Yakra. You will now have to face off against Yakra. After defeating Yakra, open the two chests and go down to the door and talk to the queen. You will then return to the castle.

Upon returning to the castle, head up to the room where you witnessed Marle's disappearance. Marle will now reappaer! Go to the castle exit and after watching the little scene with Frog, leave. Go through the forest down to the town. Head to Truce Canyon and return to the spot where you emerged from the portal. Lucca will open the portal and you will return to the present. After Lucca leaves your group, take Marle home to the castle. Upon entering the castle, you will be charged with kidnaping Marle. Now you get to watch as your trial unfolds. Depending on what you did during the fair, you may be found innocent or guilty of the kiddnapping. For instance if you returned the cat to the girl at the fair, you will have a good piece of evidence for your defence, but if you stole the old man's lunch, didn't wait for Marle while she was buying her candy, or tried to sell her pendant, you will have evidence against you. It really ddooesn't matter if you are guilty or not because either way they send you to prison. Talk about a screwed up system! Once there, the chancellor, even if you are innocent, tells the guards you are guilty andd to execute you at the end of three days. After this, they'll take you to your cell. Here you have two choices. You can wait to be saved by Lucca, or you can break out on your own. I usually choose to be saved as that way Lucca gets experience too, but it is fun to break out as well. To break out, simply keep going up to the bars. After three times the guard will come in and give it to you. As soon as you get up, press "A" on his back and you will take out your sword and knock him out. You can then check his body for items using the "A" button. You can do this to other guards throughout the prison too. Now leave you cell. If you want Lucca to save you, simply wait for three days to be up. After you have been freed, either way, explore the whole dungeon for items, etc. The only thing to remember is up is out. After you have all the items you want to get, head up to the area where you were received by the prison guards. Here, if you don't already have her, Lucca joins your team. Here you should use the save because as soon as you leave the room and try to exit the prison, you will have to fight the Dragon Tank boss. Don't forget to check the prison supervisor's body for items before you leave as well. Now run out and fight the tank. After this battle, run out the door that the tank was blocking. Go down several flights of stairs till you reach a exit which is guarded. Run out and try to get away from the guards. Head for the door of the castle, but you will be blocked by more guards. Don't let this worry you, Marle will appear and help you now. watch the cut scene and after this Marle will join your team. You will now be chased by guards through the forest. At this point all you will have to do is go to your right as it is the only way not blocked by the guards. Eventually you will reach a dead end and find yourself surrounded by guards. Wait a sec though! There's a gate! After watching Marle and Lucca fight awhile over what to do, press "A" on the gate. (You're adventurous, right?) You will be transported from Guardia Forest to a strange new place.

After you watch the scene leave the Bangor Dome. You can now head down towards the lower dome to get supplies before heading on to Lab 16. This dome is called the Trann Dome. Now go to Lab 16. Make your way through the lab, it isn't complicated or hard in any way. Just follow the path. It will twist around a bit, but if you stay on it, you'll get to the end. You may come across some dead ends, and if you do, go back and try the next route. It isn't a hard place for you to try find your way. Try to avoid the rats that are running around as when you touch them, you lose a tonic. Watch out for the Shadows in this area. They can only be harmed by magic. (ie: Crono & Lucca's Fire Spin or Lucca's Fire Whirl) After Lab 16, head for the dome that is out in the center of the next map screen. This is the Arris Dome. After buying supplies, and resting in the Endotron, head down the ladder. Once down in the lower room, head for the door on your left. You will enter a maze-like rafter room. I won't bother to describe the path. It isn't hard to figure out and you should familiarize yourself with the path. Once you get to the end, you will enter a room where sirens are going off. If you try to go through the door, a giant robot will fall down, blocking your path. Fight the Guardian Boss and then go into the door you tried for earlier. Watch the scene and then press "A" on the guy's body. Now leave the room an return to the rafter's maze room. Here you will have to catch the rat. I reccommend starting from the bottom where there are less twists and turns, but it is up to you. Press "B" to dash and "A" when you get close to catch him. This is why I told you to get familiar with the area. When you finally catch him, he will give you the password. You cannot enter the password (Hold L & R and press A) until you catch the rat. Enter the password on the panal in the main room that you enter when you first come down the ladder. Now head into the passage that was just opened and walk into the next room. Here, go up onto the walkway, instead of going straight, which will lead to a dead end with a chest. Once you get down off the walkway, go down and follow the path with no variations in it right to the door. In the next room, go straight up onto another walkway and follow it till it ends. Now go up and you will see several places to turn. Go onto the walkway that should be straight ahead. The other paths lead to places that are currently of no concern to you. Go in the door at the end of the walkway. In thi room, a short scene will transpire, so wait for it to be over, then head out of the room, and return to theupper part of the dome where all the people are. Here, you will receive the Bike Key from Doan. Leave the dome and head to Lab 32.

In Lab 32, run up the path and you should reach a bike. Press "A" on it and alarms will sound. Robots quickly appear and start attacking, but then, a strange-looking robot named Johny appears. The robots stop fighting and he offers to race you. You have a choice. You can race Johny through the ruins, or you can walk through and fight the monsters and get chests. The race is probably the most fun way to go, but I'd go back for the chests after to get your Race Log. Once you get through Lab 32, head to the right and down and enter the Proto Dome.

Inside the Proto Dome, go to the far part of the dome. Here you should notice a robot in the middle of the floor. There is also a door behind him, which you can't open. Press "A" on the robot and a scene will play through, where Lucca fixes the robot, which is your next character, Robo. Robo will then help you get into the power plant to open the door. You are then given a choice over who should stay behind while you travel to the plant. You can pick from either Marle or Lucca. It is your choice, but I recommend taking Lucca, since Robo has healing techniques and Crono and Lucca's Firl Whirl is extremely helpful for defeating the next boss. It's your choice, though. Once you've chosen your team, leave the dome and head for the strange structure you may have noticed earlier above the Proto Dome. This is the Power Plant.

Enter the Power Plant and walk up to the screen that you will see as soon as you enter the door. Press "A" on the screen, and Robo will bypass the security. Once this is done, you can walk into the rest of the plant through the passage that was blocked by a laser beam. It is on your right. Go straight until you come to a place where you see two elevators separated by a passage containing three robots. Enter the elevator on your right and press "A" to activate it. Once you have arrived on the new floor, head down till you come to two staircases that lead down. For a treasure chest, head to the one closest to your left. To continue with the level, head to the one fathest down. Follow the path till you see some stairs that lead up to a conveyer belt. Go up them and into the doorway. Walk around in it to the right and a claw should come out from the ceiling and grab you. If not stay there and try pressing "A" till it does, but it should come. The claw will drop you unto the conveyer belt. On the belt, you won't be able to move till the end, so make sure you heal before going on and in battle. You will now be fighting several groups of enemies with no time to heal between battles. After going through the belt, (it shouldn't take too long) you will be put out onto a little stairway. If you want, you can go back onto the belt for a chest at the end, but this means that you will have to repeat the battles again. Since the chest is nothing important (not a weapon, armor piece, or even accessory), I don't recommend it, but then again, it does help you level up, so it is your decision. Anyways whatever you decide, eventually you are going to need to head into the doorway in the place that you end up getting off the belt first. Go in the door here and you should see a staircase leading up on the other side of the screen from where you came in. After passing or fighting the enemies, go up this staircase. Now you will be up on top of the room with the conveyer belt on what appears to be a catwalk (or at least you should be if you are going the right way). Walk along the catwalk till you come to a fork. Turn to the right and go in the door. There are some chests to get here. You can also press "A" on the panal to access the password for the crane codes needed to move the red barrels out of your path, but as I will tell you what they are, it isn't necessary. Leave the room and go back to the catwalk fork and this time, turn and go the other way and enter the first door you come to. In this room, get the chests, fight the robots if you want and go into the door to the left of the entrance in the bottom corner. You will now be in the small room where the crane controls are located. Go forward till it asks for a code. Now after the beep press the "X" button and then the "A" button. This will remove the first barrel. When the crane has stopped, walk forward again. This time when it asks for a code press "B" and "B" again to move the other barrel. Once this is done, leave the crane room and return to the catwalk. Once you are back on the catwalk, go down the stairs to the left of the door you just exited. Now walk to the left through the path you just cleared by moving the barrels, till you see a door at the end of the path. Go in the door and press "A" on the screen to get the password for the room containing the generator. Now return to the elevator and go up to the main floor where you entered the factory. On the main floor, head left and go into the other elevator. Once you get to the lower floor. Go in the door in the top left-hand corner of the room. Beat the enemies in this room and then go to the panal and press "A" to open the hatch. Go down the now opened hatch. Once you have arrived, go straight and simply follow the corridor, fighting any enemies you may encounter along the way. Keep going till you loop around and come to a door. Enter the room and press "A" on the screen at the top of the room. This will turn off the defence lasers. Fight the enemies which will appear after you have done this and then go down the hatch in the bottom left corner. In this room, go up the straight hall and enter the password "X", "A", "B", and "Y" into the first computer you come to at the end of the passage. After this, enter the way which was sealed off before and walk straight up to the machine and press "A" on the handle. Now leave and go back exactly the same way you came. When you reach the hall under the first hatch, you will encounter Robo's brothers. After you watch the scene, you will need to fight them. After they are defeated, you will return automatically to the Proto Dome.

After Lucca finishes patching up Robo, the group will head up through the door that the person who remained behind opened when you activated the generator. Through this door will be a portal and the group will go through it and end up in a strange place. Walk down the stairs and talk to the old man sleeping by the lamppost in the center of everything. After you are finished listening to him explain everything to you and you have picked your team, walkback up towards the pillars of light, or at least pretend to. The old man will call you back. Talk to him again and then go in the once sealed door behind him, with Crono, Marle, and Lucca in your party as right now, they are the only ones who can learn magic. In the room, you will meet Spekkio, master of war. He will tell you to walk around the room clockwise three times starting at the door. Do this, even though it may seem stupid as it is worth it. Make sure you stay close to the walls and that you do exactly three circles of the room. No more, no less. After this, Spekkio will grant you magic. Leave his room and walk back up to the pillars of light. Press "A" on each one till you find the one which goes to 1000 AD, Medina Village. Take this portal to your destination. By the way, from now on you can change your party at anytime, except for in battle by pressing the "X" button.

When you arrive in Medina Village, leave the house you came out of after listening to the Imps' warnings. From here, you can explore the village, though you won't be able to buy anything because the prices will be too high, as the Mystics hate humans. You may also get into some fights. After visiting the town square, leave Medina, and head for the hut to the left of town. This is Melchior's Hut and he will be able to sell you the items you need, at an affordable price. Once you have all that you need. Head towards the cave on back of the house on the map. Enter this cave.

As soon as you enter the cave, you will get into a fight with some Henchs. After this fight follow the path till you get to a ladder. Go down this ladder to continue farther into the cave. Keep going along the path. Explore all the paths as there are a few chests to be obtained. Eventually you will end up in front of a carvern with a save point, if you are on the main path. Save here as you will be fighting a boss in the next room. After saving, head into the room and fight Heckran. After fighting Heckran, continuing heading up till you get to a pool of water. When you approach this pool it will ask you if you want to jump in. Say "yes" and you will end up back in Truce next to Lucca's house.

There is little to do in the present right now, so after you do what you need to do, head to the Millenial Fair and use the Gate next to Lucca's device to head to 600 AD. Once you are in 600 AD, head out of Truce Canyon and go left to the bridge that you may have noticed, was broken last time you were in this time period, which should now be fixed. Go the brigde and press "A" to access the area. Here talk to the Captain in the Gold Armor. He will ask you if you know where the supplies from the castle are. Leave the bridge and go to Guardia Castle. Once you are in the castle, head down and to the right to the kitchen. Here, you must talk to the chef. After this conversation go and try to leave the castle. The chef should stop you and give you some food for the troops, as well as an item for your group. Now go back to the bridge and talk to the captian. He will ask you if the food is for the soliders. Say "yes" and a little scene will take place. After this talk to him one last time and offer to help the troops. Then go and cross the bridge. Here you will meet Ozzie. When Ozzie and the first lot of Deceased you run into start to fight, attack Ozzie. He is easy to kill and once he is gone the Deceased disappear. I recommend using Crono's Lightning, Lucca's Fire and Marle's Ice. After these three moves Ozzie's spell will be broken and you will win the fight. Don't be discouraged that the magic attacks aren't harming Ozzie, he will run away as soon as the Deceased are down. Just use the three magic attacks like I said. Once each is enough. You can also attack Ozzie, and this should produce the same run-away results, I just find the three magic attack way to be faster than beating on him normally. After your fisrt Ozzie match, continue on the bridge and you will face the same situation again. Do the same thing again and chase after Ozzie again. You will then reach the end of the bridge where Ozzie will summon Zombor, the next boss and then take off. Fight and defeat Zombor, then leave the bridge and continue into the new unexplored southern continent.

On this new continent, you will find two villages. Scout both out, visit the shops and once you are prepared, go climb the mountain east of Sandorino Village known as Denadoro Mountain. Explore every part of this mountain as there are some good items to be found. (Hint: Try dropping down a waterfall.) Keep going up the mountain (it isn't too hard to find the way, the path has no variations), till you reach a cave at the top. Enter this cave. Inside you will see a boy running around. Go up and try to take the Masamune, and the kid will get in your way. When he asks, say "Yes, you are here for Masamune." Then after a brief scene you will be fighting Masa and Mune, then after you beat them, Masa and Mune's dual form. After this, you will be able to go up and claim the Masamune and then you will be transported to the bottom of the mountain. Head to Porre Village.

Once you are in Porre, go to Tata's House. He should be waiting in their. Talk to him and he'll confess and give you the Hero's Medal. Now head to the woods between Porre and Dorino, know as the Cursed Woods. Head right up till you reach a dead end. In the middle of this dead end, there should be a strange looking pile of leaves. Go on back of them and head down into them. You will end up underground in someone's house. Head into it and Frog will come out. It is Frog's House. Talk to Frog until he asks you to leave. Now head to the chest on the left of his bed (it should be sparkling) and open it to obtain the rest of the Masamune. Now leave Frog's House and 600 AD for that matter and go to Melchior's House, close to Medina Village in the present. Once here, Melchior will explain things to you and send you after the Dreamstone to reforge the sword. Now go to Mystic Mountain in 65 000 000 BC to find some Dreamstone.

Once through the Gate, you will fall over the edge into a gaggle of Reptites. Fight them off, only to discover that you are outnumbered. All of a sudden, a strange woman appears and fights them off. She is Ayla, chief of the Ioka tribe and she invites you back to the village for a party after a small scene. Climb down the mountain and head towards the tent-like objects on the map and enter the one in the top left-hand corner to find Ayla. Talk to her and the party will start. At the party, talk to each one of your party members and talk to Ayla. Walk around, try stuff, and have fun. When you are finished, talk to Ayla again, and you will have a soup race for the stone. Press "A" rapidly (or cheat and use turbo) to try and beat her. You can have as many tries as you want and even if you can beat it, eventually she'll give up. After this you will go to bed.

The next morning, you will discover your Gate Key is missing. After a scene, Ayla will join your team to help you find it. Now stock up on supplies in town and once you are ready, head south toward a circular-looking forest. In the forest, you will watch a small scene, after that, you need to find your way through the forest. The layout may seem confusing, but all you need to do is explore the entire forest as there are lots of items to be found. The exit is at the bottom-left hand corner, so to get out, head that way. Once you leave the forest, go inside the cave in the center called the Reptite's Lair.

Inside the Reptite's Lair, there should be holes created or in the process of being created. Go down the hole or wait for another path, it doesn't matter as both ways have chests for you to get. It is relatively easy to find your way around in the Reptite's Lair. Keep on route till you reach a hallway where you can either go in a door, or go straight. Go in the door, to go to the surface and go straight to get to the boss, Nizbel. After defeating Nizbel, you will be returned to the surface to the Ioka Village. Leave the village and head to Melchior's House.

At Melchior's House, Melchior will take the sword and a party member (usually Lucca) will go with him to help repair the sword. Follow them downstairs and watch the repairation. Then after the scene, leave Melchior's and head back to 600 AD to Frog's House. At Frog's House, talk to Frog and you will watch a scene. The next morning (after the scene), leave Frog's House and the Cursed Woods. Before you head to the Magic Cave, go to the End of Time to get Frog his magic abilities. Once you back, go to the other mountain (should be called Magic Cave), south of the Denadoro Mountains. Here you will see another scene. When it is over, enter the cave. The cave should be a path with no variations, so follow it right to the end and exit the cave on the other side and you will be next to Magus' Castle.

Once you enter Magus' Castle, you will notice a staircase that branches off at the top into two staircases. Choose one and go all the way to the top and descend. Then go up the other one to the top and come back down again. Once you have gone all the way up both, you will notice a save point in front of the stained glass window. Touch it and you will discover that it is anything but a save point. Ozzie will appear and after the little scene and after beating up a few baddies, choose a staircase and go up again. Go right and you'll face Flea first, go left and you'll fight Slash. After defeating the both of them, return to the main level to discover the save point-like object that is there again. This time whewn you touch it, it will warp you to the rest of the castle. Once you have come this far, the rest is a simply matter of just going along the one path, with no variations. It is a long route to Magus, filled with traps and trouble and many enemies to fight (Ozzie didn't lie!), but keep on going till you finally get to the end of the line, Ozzie. After sending Ozzie to his temporary doom. Two save point like things will appear. The one on the right is a save point. The one on the left, warps you to the next part of the castle. In the next part, descend the stairs, enter the doorway, go up and you'll fight Magus. Simple, right? After defeating Magus, you'll be sucked into a huge gate after Lavos emerges.

You'll wake up in Ayla's hut, where after a short scene with Ayla, she'll take off and leave you to rest. When you wake up, Kino will come in the hut, talk to you a while and then another villager will come, saying that the north wood is ablaze. Kino will leave quickly. What are you waiting for, go to the North Wood or Labura Ruins!

At the ruins, head up and watch the scene between the chief of the Labura and Ayla. After it is over, leave the Ruins and head for Dactyl's Nest. Make sure you also visit the Trading Post, as there are some new weapons to buy. Once you are ready go up the Nest till you reach the top. At the top, you'll find Ayla. The person in the second spot in your party will convince Ayla that she shouldn't go alone and Ayla will join your party. Crono, Ayla, and one member of choice will climb aboard the Dactyls and leave for the Lair. When you are control of the Dactyls you can go anywhere on the prehistoric map. Once you are sure that you have enough supplies, go to the right over the lava and find Tyrano Lair. Land and enter the base.

Inside Tyrano's Lair, head into the right skull and go down to the next level. Here fight the Reptites and free the Labura Villagers by pressing "A" on the little circular object next the the jail's door. Now head down to the next level. Here fight the guards after you listed to the little converation. Walk over to the cell and you will see Kino inside. Talk to Kino and a little scene will unfold. After this, follow Kino back up to the main floor and he will open the left skull for you and leave. Head into the left skull. After you get into the next room you will have a choice of going either left or right. If you go right, you will end up on a balcony and then in a room with two chests or eggs in it. The one on the left contains an item while the one on the right will send you down to the prison where the Labura were held. If yu go left, you will end up on a balcony and then in a strange room which has all sorts of hidden teleports. Explore this room and get any chests you want. You will soon understand the teleport pattern. After this is done, head to the door at the top left-hand corner and leave. In the next room, you will find yourself on another balcony. Ignore the middle door for now as it is sealed off and head to the right. In the right room you will see several buttons and a skull head which is closed. Press the button on the right to open the skull. The one on the left opens the skull and sends out a welcoming party for you to fight. Either way, go into the opened path and press "A" on the the switch on the wall which should look like the one you pressed on to open the Labura cell. After doing this, return to the door in the middle which was sealed and after you fight all the baddies, enter the door.

Inside this room, you will find an old friend, or at least what looks like an old friend waiting at the door. Circle around him and save your game. Now try to leave and Nizbel II will attack you. After defeating Nizbel II, leave the room through the door which you were headed before Nizbel II so rudely interrupted.

You know the drill. Forget about the middle door for now and head to the right. Inside here, you will see another skull and three buttons. The one on the left brings up a save point. The one on the right sends down monsters and the one along the path makes the floor on either side disappear. To open the skull, press "A" on the skull. (How could you ever have guessed that, eh?) Anyways, enter the skull and press "A" on the switch and leave the room. Now, you can enter the door in the middle after destroying all the Dinos in your way. Inside this room, you will see Azala seated on a throne. After the short dialogue, follow Azala out back, after you grab the chests. At the end of the path, you will face Tyrano. After defeating Tyrano and Azala, watch the short scene. After the scene, you'll find yourself outside the remains of Tyrano's Lair. Enter the remains and after your characters finish talking, enter the Gate.

On the other side of the Gate, you will find yourself in a cave. Leave this cave and you will find yourself in a hostile, icy environment. You are in 12 000 BC. Head to the right till you see a strange structure. This is a Skygate. Enter the Skygate and stand on the warp pad. You are on your way to the Magic Kingdom of Zeal.

Once you have landed (so to speak) or been teleported up to Zeal, leave the gate and enter the town you will see next to it.
