My name is MICHAEL BURNS. I'm in the beginning stages of researching my family. I was wondering if you have come across any BURNS' that have passed through Nova Scotia or migrated to Nova Scotia.
My BURNS' were from the Hants County area of Nova

Subject: Lafayette Burns
I found a website with some people named --------------Lafayette Burns and patrynomics being what it is
I was wondering if either of you had ever heard of
Lafayette Jackson Burns and Dora Alice Burns.
They came up to Alberta, Canada in 1905 and homesteaded in a small place named Solheima near Red Deer, Alberta. They homesteaded at NW6-37-3 W5M and nearby at SW23-37-1 W5M was a family related to them.
As in the 1906 Census
John Burns Jr age 40 in 1906, born USA
Jennie, wife, age 37, born USA
Jesse, son, 16 born USA
Ricky, son, age 14 born USA
Les age 10, born USA
Gwendolyne,a ge 3, born USA
and
John Sr. Burns, age 68, born USA
Annie, wife 58, born USA
I could not find Lafayette Burns in the 1906 Census and it is possible that he may be a brother to or one and the same as John Burns Sr or JR.
If you recognize the family, I would like to hear from you.
