Five
mile (out-and-back) races on the second and fourth Saturdays of January through
March. Start and finish at the former LaPlatte Elementary School (now the Peru
State College Annex) in LaPlatte, NE. LaPlatte is located 3 miles south of
Bellevue and Offutt AFB on east side of Highway 75. Entry fee is $3 for each
race.
The course is out and back on asphalt pavement with each mile marked with paint
and a cone. If possible, a split will be read at the mile mark. The course is
flat except for a mild incline between 2 and 2 1/2 miles. The course is
generally protected from the north wind.
There are no restroom facilities at the site. The Lodge Restaurant and JRC's
Convenience Store are nearby. It is preferred that you park in the LaPlatte
Church parking lot that is one block east of the start since classes may be in
session at Peru State.
There are no individual race awards. Complete results are recorded and posted
at www.runnebraska.com. The results are age-graded, that is, they are adjusted
for age using the handicapping tables published by the World Association of
Veteran Athletics (WAVA). There are separate results posted for men and women.
Following handicapping, they are ranked and 10 points are awarded for the fasted
adjusted time, 9 points to second and so on. Points are accumulated throughout
the series and awards are presented to the top scorers at the conclusion of the
series.

Saturdays of December through March. All races start at Lake Manawa North Shore
area (enter park off S. 11th St.). Coming from Bellevue, take South
Omaha bridge (Missouri Blvd.) from 13th Street. Entry fee $3 payable
at race site (no pre-registration). Medals to top five in each age group (14
