June 17th, Ravenna, NE Outlaw Regional Pull

Right now our area is in a drought and Rain-outs are very UNLIKELY. When we got as close as 6 miles out of Ravenna it started to rain pretty moderate. The pull was scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. central time. It didn't get underway till about 8:00 to 8:15. Our class, the 5700 lb. Super Stock was the second class on the west track. We pulled # 1. If you look closely on the main page at the picture you can see a steady stream of oil coming out of the blow-by tube. We had tried to fix that problem and thought we had, but we didn't. We took off out of the hole up against the rev-limiter and got about 75 ft. when the flagman stoped us, he had thought we were dropping too much oil. We decided to back up and try it again, but the battery was dead, we dropped to last. We charged the battery and went again, only later in the class. We took off spinning the tires but not moving 2 inches. The oil came out faster this time and we wern't going anywhere so we shut her down. I think they hooked us in the bottom hitch and not the top one because we were spining the tires and not moving anywhere. We loaded up and went home. The reason the oil is coming out the blow-by tube is because we have the blow-by hooked up by where the cam-gears spin and those gears are shooting oil up the tube and out the tube. We are going to either build a bigger oil pan so we could have the blow-by hooked up to the pan, or have the blow-by out the side of the block. That could change in time though. We got 7th out of 8 tractors.

July 4th, Gibbon, NE NeTPA Pull

We traveled to Gibbon, NE and pulled in the 5,800 lb. Super Stock Class and placed 2nd out of 5 tractors. We had a pretty good run going and the track was a biter, it really took the horsepower to get it down the track a long ways. 1st place went to Rod Posota from Ravenna, NE with a John Deere 4010 alky burner with over 500 cu. inches and two turbos. He went 355 and some feet, it was a floating finish. We went 295.8 ft. We finally got a run without any problems. YEAH!!!!!!.........Anyway, I think Rod has one of the best Lightweight Superstock tractors in the Nation as long as he can get that power to the ground, which happens quite often. We had a little oil leakage through the pan gasket or the rear main seal, but nothing serious. Our next pull will be on July 7th, at Cherroke, IA.

July 7th Cherroke, IA ITPA State Pull

We traveled to Cherroke, IA and pulled in the 5700 lb. Super Stock Class. There were quite a few tractors there, eight in our class which included, Pat Pfiefer (Allis 1-90) who won the class with a pull of 280.8 ft., Glen Freese Jr. (Farmall 460 "Indian Hill Special") who got second with a pull of 279 ft., and we got third with a pull of 273.10 ft. There were a couple of other tractors like Ed Sass with the "Herd Boar". Also Terry Mammen and a NICE looking and runnin 786 IH on Methanol. It was a really good show. We did good and didn't break.

July 15th Ft. Dodge, IA Regional Outlaw Pull

We traveled to Ft. Dodge, IA and pulled in the 5700 lb. Super Stock Class. Out of six tractors we placed 4th. It wasn't our track. The tractor just wasn't locking in to make a load so the boost would not exceed 40 lbs.. We usually run 50 to 60 lbs.. Glen Freese won the class with a awesome run. Our next pull is at Adel, IA tomorrow.

July 16th Adel, IA ITPA State Pull

At Adel, IA we pulled in the 5700 lb. class. This was our track! We took off out of the hole great and the front end just right, at about 150 ft. POP!!! not good. We still had oil pressure but we wern't sure what was wrong. We brought it into the pits and took the valve cover off and i noticed a spark plug wire just dangling. We blew the #1 spark plug right down the middle of the porsolin. It even cracked our hood in four spots. Thank goodneww thats all that happened. We are going to put in 6 new plugs and be done and ready for the next pull, Onawa, IA.

Onawa, IA Regional Outlaw Pull July 20th, 2000

We traveled to Onawa, IA and pulled in the 5700 lb. Super Stock Class. Out of 10 tractors we got 3rd. We pulled the sled 272.8 Ft. We ran out of power at the end and it made a little pop but everything seemed ok. Our next pull will be July 21st, at Hinton, IA.

Hinton, IA Regional Outlaw Pull July 21st, 2000

This will be my LAST results update for the year 2000.

BOOM!!!

After all winter.....

We have now almost a completly new tractor, mechanically that is. We have put an 8.3 L Cummins on Methanol with a single turbo for now, i guess we'll see what happens in Cherokee, IA on the 13th......

After a year of testing our new engine, we are finally back in business. Our first pull is in Ravenna, NE

Ravenna, NE We show up to the pull and it rains for the first time in Ravenna all year, what a surprise... It always rains when they have a pull. The pull goes on and there are many tractors in our class. We go down the track but for the first time, the front end was way to light and it was up and down, against the wheelie bars more then once, and finally at the end, we lost our weights so we got DQed. The basket case won, and Rod Posota got second with his JD 4010. We could've gotten 3rd or 4th if we wouldn't had lost our weights.

On the road to IL...

Decatur, IL We must be crazy driving 505 miles to run our tractor for the second time ever on it's motor. But we did. We left on a thursday around noon, and stayed off the Mississippi river in Hanibal, MO and drove on the next day to Decatur. There were alot of good tractors there and Dad drove again. We could weigh 6,000 lbs. here unlike Ravenna where we could only weigh 5700 lbs. THIS MADE QUITE THE DIFFERENCE. We ended up third and were on our way to a pull that happenes to be on our way home, Griggsville.

Griggsville, IL Now this is scary... I turned 16 last November 13th, and now i can legally drive the tractor... Dad lets me try it here and like most things I do the first time, I mess up. After about 100 ft. goin down the track, it poped out of gear. I must have not gotten it past the V-tent balls that hold it in gear with high rpms. But we think our floorboard might have been in the way partially. That was the first time we ran the fastest gear. Live and learn though...

Cherrokee, IA Now it is time to pull with the outlaws. We show up and get everything ready. It's a great night for pulling, we even had to wear jackets by the end of the night. We got 4th out of I think 12 tractors. We were very happy, especially when it was loaded in the trailor for the next night and not broken.

Ft. Dodge, IA It was my turn to drive again and I never really had my first full pass down the track due to my incedent in IL. I made sure it was in gear this time and let er' have it. I got 3rd place and it was the best feeling in the world. Being my first time and all.

Adel, IA Dad decided to let me drive some more. It was a decent track, at least if you go on the right side of it, not the left. I got a going, and I had it headed towards the right side of the track, when instinct told me to make the tracor strait, so I hit the break again, which hurt me, and got me on the wrong side where the dirt was loose. I ended up 5th, but I learned not to use the break so much.

Onawa, IA I'm on the seat again, and there are alot of tractors at this pull. There were close the 15 or maybe even more. I had a good run, but the track went bad towards the end of our class. I get 7th even though i was five feet from 4th and 5th. At least it's still running.

Hinton, IA It's really hot, and there is no breeze at all. We pulled in a vally, and they told us to get down there early. We sat down there for almost half an hour. My dad wasn't feeling too good, and my fire suit was hot. I had a good run, and got 5th place. I feel like im getting better and better every time I drive.

Carrol, NE Today there was actually a breeze but it was all dust being blown. The trailor was full of dirt by the end of the night. Rod Posota had won the 2 nights before and tonight. He needed to go home, so he asked me to take his tractor to Boone, IA tomorrow night. I couldn't wait. I kept thinking about that and not ours. But we didn't pull til 1:30 in the morning cause we were the last class. We had been having troubles with holding the front end up in the air. And we had figured out our problem. We were overpowering the track. Tonight i held the front end in the air, and carried it. I got 5th again, but 1st place was only 15 feet away which happened to be the JD I was supposed to drive the next night. His wife called, and said he should just go on by himself, so I didn't end up driving his after all. We were tired, so we just went on home that night and got some sleep. Our next pull isn't for 2 weekends.
