The following is a very true story of my family:

My grandpa went to Hong Kong in the 60's when China was still a growing country. China was poor and always faced famines. Many people immigrated to Hong Kong and neighboring states. Hong Kong was ruled by the British after a war. Many could not get there legally. They went by boat or traveled by mountain.

My grandpa was one of the people that traveled by mountain because he could not afford even a boat and many many people did not make it to Hong Kong. He hiked for over two weeks. He and his friend travelled together and they had very scarce amounts of food and shared their portions. He told us he saw a tiger but it did not attack and he got bitten by a snake but thankfully it was not poisonous. He still has the scar on his leg.

Finally after almost dying they made it to Hong Kong where they found their future and my grandpa met my grandma, and they had children who had children, and that is the reason why I am here.
