Pix for Malcolm, Jinny, & the PALU’s!

Dear All!
Unfortunately, several of the pix Susan & I took at Castle Forbes turned out very dark. Additionally, I entirely “lost” ONE of the TWO timer-pix of the whole group (taken after dinner, in the living room). Ah, well. We STILL had an incredibly wonderful time with ALL of you! So, we will always cherish these pictures. (E’en the not-so-good ones!)
To the PALU’s: Plz forgive me! But, the only name-spelling I can be sure of, is that of Arlette! If I have “murdered” Virginie & Michel’s names, PLZ send me the correct spelling, and I’ll repair them.
The text later on this page (you’ll know when) is from the Castle Forbes pages I posted on our Fandamily’s Web Album.
If, for SOME strange reason, any of you want to “SNAG” any of the silly pix we took (to save to your computer and/or share with friends), here’s how you do it:
- Put your Mouse Pointer on the pic you want.
- Click on the pic, USING THE MOUSE BUTTON that you normally do NOT USE. (For me, it’s a RIGHT click.)
- A “Drop-Down” box of options will appear.
- Click on “Save Picture As” (or the like)
- Then, a box with Folder Options on your computer will open.
Select a “folder” for the pic to be saved to - - one that you can find again!
(You can change the NAME of the pic before saving it. That way, you’ll recognize it.)
- Then, click on SAVE.
The “Mini-Vidz” cannot be “snagged” from the Web. If there are any that any of you want, plz Email me and tell me which one(s) to send. I’ll attach their “AVI” file to an Email.
That’s it!
Here comes the stuff from our Web Album, about our absolutely fantabulous experience at Castle Forbes!

CHAS’ & SUSAN’S
EXCELLENT
UK ADVENTURE
Day Five
(STILL!!!) |
Staying OVERNIGHT at CASTLE FORBES!

In my opinion, THIS experience was the most AWESOME … most AMAZING
… INCREDIBLE … OH!!! … adventure of our ENTIRE TRIP!
I could write a BOOK, describing the things we experienced there. I won’t though.
(Hey! I promise!)
Lodging with Laird and Lady Forbes in their private castle, and sharing dinner with them and other personal guests, was phenomenal!

(the North & West faces)
& the
“WEST & SOUTH FACES”
BTW: That small BLUE car is our
Rental Car, and is parked under
our 2nd floor bedroom’s window.
(Which you can’t see!) |

| Castle Forbes has a rather LATE “check-in” time. They prefer that guests not arrive until around 5:30 pm! But, since we were planning to bug-out incredibly early the next morning (to get to Braemar for the GAMES), we arrived a littler earlier … around 4:30.
RIGHT: Susan captures ONE of the MANY
glorious views of the countryside
surrounding Castle Forbes.
This private residence is OFF “the beaten path”
– but, NOT difficult to find. |

Malcolm & Jinny Forbes
This pic is from their web site, and doesn’t do them a BIT o’ justice!
(Actually, you simply can’t see them well in it.)
Jinny graciously accepted our early arrival,
and helped us to our room. Then, SHE
returned to COOKING the evening’s feast!
A local woman comes in to SERVE the meal,
freeing Jinny to perform her “Hostess” duties.
But, ALL the cooking is done by Lady Forbes. |

Our room was spacious, comfortable,
and GORGEOUS.
It wasn’t until later that night,
that I noticed we had been given
the “DALE” room!
Each of the rooms have very old name plates
on the doors. What’s really a hoot:
Although I had listed “Susan Dale” as being
my traveling companion and roommate,
Jinny & Malcolm were as surpriZed as WE
were, when we mentioned the DALE room! |
 |

The incredibly lovely Double-Wardrobe
on the wall opposite our beds
A silly pic of the window in our room.
Get over it! (Ha!) |
 |

To stay out of the way of our Hostess, we fussed around outside for a bit.
Although we spent time INSIDE the beautiful COURTYARD at the back of Castle Forbes,
for some reason, we have NO PIX of the Courtyard, itself!
ABOVE LEFT: The exterior “side door” to the courtyard.
ABOVE RIGHT & BELOW: THREE VIEWS of the “interior-Castle” entrance
to the courtyard, taken from the window of our 2nd floor bath room.
“Flicker” is a Black Lab, and one of Jinny & Malcolm’s two dogs.
