“Over the course
of 350 years,
this room has
developed from a Jacobean High Hall,
to a Georgian Dining Room,
and finally into a Victorian
Drawing Room.”
The
Dining
Room
this was formerly the
Entrance Hall passage
and
Withdrawing
Room
The
Chintz
Room
Originally,
this room was the
Night Nursery
(opposite the
Day Nursery).
Today it has been
furnished with items
gifted or bequeathed
to the Trust.
Stone Stairways
Throughout ALL
the Castles we visited,
there were shallow, deep,
circular stone stairways
like this one in Drum,
connecting the oldest of floors.
The LIBRARY
is the only part of the
original Keep
that was integrated into
the Jacobean house.
It contains some 3,000 books!
Originally, it would have been
the Common Hall
of the Old Castle.
