Ian totally surprised Vanessa by proposing on the 9th August 2001 on her 27th Birthday, after been going out for 7 ½ years, and living together in Farnborough for 3 ½ years.

He had even brought the ring, which was a 18ct gold diamond trinity ring in a chenier set.

Since the engagement, the wedding plans have been going full steam ahead, with the date, church, reception, cars, photographer, videographer, Disco, Fireworks (well it is near 5th November!), Vanessa's dress and accessories, the men's outfits, and all the flowers have been ordered.

The Wedding

Ian and Vanessa have set a date of 2nd November 2002. No particular reason why this date decided but deep down it was the destination of the honeymoon that made it an autumnal/winter wedding.

Vanessa’s dream of when she was younger, was to hold her wedding reception at Frensham Pond Hotel, after looking into the venue, they decided to go for it, and so it was booked. Details can be found on the Reception Page

They both decided on having a church service, and so are getting married at St Paul’s Church in Tongham, Surrey. This is Vanessa’s family church, were a lot of her relatives have got married including both sets of grandparents, and even though it is out of their parish the vicar kindly agreed to marry them.
