Rules
Welcome to the DMFL. The first 3 rules we are putting heavy emphasis on in order to keep this league going well into madden 2k5 and hopefully beyond:
1. Respect your opponent and everyone in the league. Lets not resort to name calling and immature child's play because of a dispute on or off the field. Trash talk is fine but lets not go overboard. Any issues you have are to be taken up with the commissioners (kcjeff58 or nascarneil43) The Commissioner will handle each issue with the attention and/or action it requires. You are responsible for knowing the rules. If you keep saying you don't know them or keep ignoring them then you will be asked to leave.
2. STR8 Play - No Cheese, lets keep it real as possible. There's so many ways to cheese out there its ridiculous. Basically use common sense. Don’t drop your QB back 15 yards and wait for someone to eventually pop open. Don’t lob the ball 60 yards 10-15 times a game because it’s the only way you know how to score. Ill go into more depth about cheese below.
3. Advance - Basically we want dedicated owners in this league. We will advance every 4 days with or with out ya. 4 days is plenty of time to get 1 game of madden played. Personally id like to see every 2 days but that's a little bit of a unrealistic expectation. If you don’t get it played with in the 4 days with out a valid excuse AHEAD OF TIME the game will be simmed in your opponents favor. 2 simms in one season we gotta cut you loose.
4. Settings/Sliders- All Pro, 7 Minute Quarters, All Sliders set to default 50/50, Weather random, Injuries on, Pre existing injuries off.
5. All Owners are required to report game results after a game is played. Use the DMFL game center upload script for doing this.
6. 4th down rule-You may go for it 4th and 1 when your on or past your 45 yard line. You may go for it on 4th and 2 anytime past your opponent's 35. Other than that, unless your down 17 points or more or trailing at the final 5 min of the game forget about it. Also be dure to let your opponent know your going for it .
7. Audibles- There part of the game but don’t be audibling on purpose just to get a WR at the FB HB or TE position on purpose. I can see you having to audible that way to adjust to a defense a couple times a game but if your doing that just to take advantage of AI its plain and simple cheese and wont be tolerated. Also you can not call a audible at the instant of the break in the huddle.
8. Motion- Motion is ok by me. Its also part of the game. My only rule on this will be make sure your opponent is set before you hike the ball. do not hike the ball while the player is in motion.
9. No Huddle- No huddle is ok if your using it in the final 2 min of each half or down by 17 or more in the final 4 min of game.
10. Moving D players before snap- you can move defensive player manually you want with 2 exceptions. Line man are not allowed to be moved manually and once you move a player you cannot switch to a different player until the ball is snapped.
11. No using the ask madden feature.
12. Do not let the CPU pass or run for you.
13. Subs- I don’t want to see Randy Moss playing Slot, HB, or TE same goes for any other WR. Lets just keep it realistic fellas
COMPLAINTS - Before you complain about someone breaking the rules or playing cheese style please look at the facts. If you want to complain about a guy throwing to his back 20 times a game but in the game log he only has 5 catches please don't complain. Be realistic about your complaints instead of emotional because maybe you lost. It is up to you to figure out how to stop the "money plays". Ask around and I am sure that a lot of DMFL owners will help you with how to defense certain things. Just because a team beats you does not mean they are cheese. Also xthe F1 key will save screen shots to your %root%\My Documents\Madden NFL 2004\Scrnshots directory. Screen shots that show blatant cheese can be sent to kcjeff58 or Nascarneil43 for review.
