VARMINT RIFLE and PRAIRIE DOG FUN SHOOT

This is a 20 shot match fired from the 100 to as far as the 400 yard lines and anyplace in between.

Since you can hunt varmints with vertually anything, you can use anything in this match.

ANY firearm, sights, slings, bi-pods, clothing, sand bags etc. HOWEVER, if you use it you have to carry it with you from one yard line to the next. We reccomend you keep it simple.

The target is a 9 inch tall prairie dog against a standard bullseye "SR" target. Hits on the dog are worth 10, 15 or 20 points. Hits that are close are worth 1 or perhaps as much as 5 points. The least valued scoring ring is 13 inches accross. Misses that are out side the 1 ring are a NEGATIVE 3. Saved rounds are not scored. If you don't think you can hit the scoring rings from a given distance, you do not have to shoot and risk going backwards in your score.

COURSE OF FIRE....

MULTIPLE ENTRIES...

You can enter more than once but you can only win once. You can enter two or more times but the first time you shoot will be the score we use for your record fire. Each additional relay yuo shoot will cost you only $1.00 extra to cover target expenses. HELPFUL TIPS...

This is a game where heavy barreled target and varmint rigs should do very well. But don't get too carried away with equipment because you have to carry EVERYTHING with you from one yard line to the next. For example, shooting mats become a real hassel and frankly a waist of time.

It is a fun match that has a little stress built in. On a very calm day, a shooter with a little .17 Rem. could do very well. Someone may want to try it with anything from a BMG 50 to a .22lr.

One of the best things about a shoot like this is you get to meet new people and see lots of different types of equipment. It's fun way to spend some time with your family too.

The size of the dog is about 9 inches tall. This image is the CENTER of the actual target we use and should come up on your screen very close to the correct size. Right click on the target, copy and paste it into your graphics software and print it off to practice with. The outside edge of the 1 ring is 13 inches across.
