POINT STANDINGS : He is in 1st Place, but it's just the start of the season, so anything can happen.

DURA LUBE 400 : He started in 3rd and he blew his engine which made him finish in 39th. See I told you anything can happen.

POINT STANDINGS : He is in 11th Place.

3-7-99

LAS VEGAS 400 : He started in 11th and finished in 3rd.

POINT STANDINGS : He is in 5th Place.

CRACKER BARREL 500 : He started in 8th and he won the race.

POINT STANDINGS : He is in 3rd Place.

TRANSOUTH 400 : He started at Pole and finished in 3rd.

POINT STANDINGS : He is in 2nd Place. It's still early in the season.

PRIMESTAR 500 : He started in 8th and he wrecked which made him finish in 43rd. See I told you anything can happen. Lets hope he has more races like that.

POINT STANDINGS : He is in 4th Place.

FOOD CITY 500 : He started in 2nd and he finished in 6th. Hopefully next race he can finish in 43rd again.

POINT STANDINGS : He is in 5th Place.

At Texas Motor Speedway last month, Gordon finished 43rd, the worst of his career after crashing into the wall when a tire went flat. Despite the DNFs, Gordon is fifth in the standings, right where he was a year ago. However, then he was only 73 points behind Wallace. This year he is 210 behind Jeff Burton. The three-time Winston Cup champion has dropped out of three of nine races this season, the most since the entire season of 1996, when he had five DNFs.

GOODY'S BODY PAIN 500 : He started in 9th place and finished in 3rd.

POINT STANDINGS : He is in 4th Place.

DIEHARD 500 : He started in Lucky 13th Place. He was in an accident and finished in 38th Place.

POINT STANDINGS : He is in 5th Place.

5-2-99

CALIFORNIA 500 : He started in 5th Place and went on and won it.

POINT STANDINGS : He is in 4th Place.
