A Supermodified is a Winged Racing Machine with a hand-built chromoly frame.
"Supers" weigh in at around 1850 lbs. and are powered by a 470+ cubic inch, methanol burning, fuel injected, Big Block Chevrolet engine.  The 800+ horsepower motor is mounted on the outside left of the chassis for better handling characteristics.
These short-track machines do not use a transmission or conventional starter.  The driveshaft is bolted directly to the crankshaft and live axle rear-end.
The bodywork and wings are hand-crafted from aluminum.  The rear of the wings are connected to air cylinders which enable the wing to rotate to a flat horizontal position in the straight-aways allowing less drag and more speed, and then into a more vertical position in the turns giving the rear wheels more bite for greater cornering speed.
This Supermodified (#11) is owned by Vic Miller of Plaistow, New Hampshire and is driven by Chris Perley of Rowley, Massachusetts. (a.k.a. The Rowley Rocket)
