VIRUS It
was a place called freedom Where
the sun rose in the east As
did the moon shine at night The
oceans too never flowed into the land And
the laws of gravity
were followed Birds
did fly the heavens above Fishes
were found in the sea Trees
took root in the soil beneath And
butterflies from cocoons sprouted It
was a place called freedom As
long as one followed the laws of nature Abiding
her dictates with willing wantonness Not
defying the tenets that gave the air The
sweetness of water and freshness of dew Until
one day there happened to be The
lust to possess and own The
want of need and the need of want Selfish
love and hypocritical caring Half
truths and doctored lies And
came then the foes of nature Pain
and anguish and wrath and envy Temporary
joy and continual sorrow Wakeful
nights and darkened moods And
dog bit dog But
only in the human world Blood
turned to water Relations
lost all meanings Love
became a pick-up line A
place called freedom And a virus called life. ~Vikram C~
