UNSUNG
Liquid
tears
They
rolled down my pale cheeks
No
one cared
And
beyond time
The
tears were parched
Dried
were my eyes
Yet
emotions flowing
Somewhere
within
A
yearning
A
longing to go back unto the womb
This
world hath nothing
But
misery
I
was alone with my pain
And
shattered dreams
My
life around me crumbling
People
laughed
Not
that they knew
But
realized not
For
few can cherish
A
beating heart
My
thoughts like branchless leaves
Flittered
about
Alighting
upon my being
But
with the slightest wind
Dancing
away
In
a selfishly
Caring
world
My
being was numb
Yet
my soul felt the numbness
For
somewhere along
The
subconscious regained
The
power to love
To
appreciate
And
spontaneously care
Like
the poet might not on the first line stuck
One
has to go on
As
King Canute did realize
Tears
are but another form of expression
As
is silence
For
in its emptiness
The
beauty of pain
Echoes
Calls
out to you
Touches
your wound
Fills
it up
I
realized
It
is kind to be cruel
At
times.
