The Shirtless Soul

 I started out this journey

With a bag so light

Filled with love

Trust and faith

Not long did I venture far

And this very bag I hate

For I was mugged

My love was raped

My trust stolen

And faith shattered

All by wayfarers

Who posed as my own

They bruised my heart

And called it friendship

They held me in their arms

Calling in the name of assurance

When all the while

They stifled my being

And as I slept like a child

My innocence was molested

They took from me the very bag

Destiny I thought had blessed me with

And in its emptiness they left behind

Sorrow of an eternal kind

My bag now empty

And journey endless

I carry shattered dreams

A mocking face of humanity

And unseen scars

I came alone

Loved strangers

Was left alone

And all I have

Is the void

Also called

Life.
