the data from two independent streams of instructions
emanating from two independent executable codes
created by the same programmer
got entangled along the way
along the way
there were input boxes
assignment boxes
output boxes
all types of boxes
inputs were provided by the operators
values were assigned by operators
outputs were directed by operators
operators - different ones
at different times
then there were decision boxes
diamonds - glittering
reflecting the colours of the rainbow -
seeking decisions to be made.
decisions were made
by the operators
who punched keys
and the instructions proceeded
unmindful of yes or no
nonentities to the operators
but today the diamonds
have assumed a different hue
the simple lines of codes
created in isolation
have come to life
today the inanimate code
is watching what the operator will punch
'cause the programmer willed it thus
that the codes make a decision of their own
a 'no' will make the codes proceed
along their independ lines of flow
an 'yes' will bring about a unification
of the two streams of code to proceed
unified as a single stream.
the operations have ceased
a dialong box has sprung up
"ignore" "retry" "abort"
the streams are on their own
everyone's watching
the programmer, the operators, everyone
how simple it would be
to press ctrl-alt-delete
avoid a decision
and start operations again?
