SOUL PLAY Why is it so difficult to say When all the while I read it in your eyes Those words which you said And even more, those which you didn’t say Where the flesh was willing And the spirit too The thin line betwixt flirting and passion Dissolved, so naturally entwined No bubble to burst, just your inhibitions Where the laughter was but A serious nod To caress your soul and drink from your lips Words which otherwise would evade you To breathe your answer to the unasked question To say yes – to love and loving Strangers no more, suspended atoms The nucleus of which – consummated Where poetry flows from the very pores Of bodies enmeshed in graceful ballet Finger tips and the big toe touching Joined by the unseen umbilical Called the air you breathe Where the flesh ends and soul begins You realize not – yet know Where lust ends and soul transcends You know not – yet realize Where innocence is found Where playfulness abounds Where the night never ends Where the sun never sets Where there are no rights or wrongs Where you love without asking Where you indulge, without taking Where your nakedness covers you Your soul, your being, you ~Vikram C~ |
