RAINDANCE Naked
feet on naked grass Naked
rain on naked flowers Naked
moonlight shimmering bright Like
little halos kissing the night. We
danced little foxtrots and jaunty jives We
did a little waltz in star kissed climes I
held her tight in my arms so close Her
breath sweeter than the cherished rose. She
sang to me a Spanish ballad And
fluttering her eyelids said she “
Love me like ‘tis the day of reckoning The
woman in me is uninhibited and beckoning”. Saying
thus her eyelids she fluttered Words
of passion her breath muttered And
as we danced the night away The
heavens itself came to stay. Her
very motion was poetry alive To
touch the skies we needn’t strive For
the stars were anklets around her feet And
the rain a satin covering sheet. It
poured puppies and kittens Cuddly
things, all smitten Cymbal
like thunder did clap on high The
chorus of the ballad a soulful sigh. The
stars went out, the moon did hide The
rain swallowed by the abating tide Dewdrops
kissed the blades of grass The never ending night came to pass. I
have with me her memories And
a lock of her beautiful hair I
needn’t towards rain clouds look For her love reaches everywhere. ~Vikram C~
