ON
THIS SPECIAL DAY
I
remember when... You were six months old and full of fun
With the blink of an eye you were suddenly one.
There were so many things that I wanted to do
But in the twinkling of an eye you turned two.
At two how heavily you depended on me
But independence took over when you turned three.
Your third birthday, another year that whizzed past the door
And when I lit the candles, there weren't three, but four.
Now you were ready for books and for rules
It was the year you went to school.
I
still remember...
The big day came, you were anxious to go
We walked to the bus, going oh, so slow.
As you climbed aboard and waved good bye
I felt a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.
Time
flew so fast...
It was yesterday that you boarded the bus to school
I just turned around
And what do you think I found
There you were wearing your cap and graduation gown!
I've
tried holding these precious moments as hard as I can
Now when I look at you I see a man.
But no matter how old you are or how far away
In my heart, my son, you will always stay.
Your
birthday seems the perfect time
to share these thoughts with you
about how wonderful it has been
to have a son like you.
It's also a perfect chance
to send this wish your way
For all life's blessings
today and everyday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SON
