And now to that shift of the axis! This cataclysm is a force of natural events and is not within the scope of man to alter. Thus it must be regarded as a soul-cleansing process, for Divine laws are immutable, and when the shift arrives those who die will not be wiped out, but returned to sprit with renewed opportunity for spiritual growth. For this reason, we on this side are permitted to tell of the coming event, so that those in physical body will understand the principle and regard it in proper light. The passage from death to spirit, and spirit to physical life is one and the same process, no more to be feared than sleeping and wakening. Those who pass into spirit when the axis shifts will be free from pain and misery, while those who escape death will have an interesting time of it in restoring order and reviving the sweetness of spiritual knowledge. Archives will need to be buried deep in the earth so that future man will rediscover ancient truths and immortal written words. The destruction of libraries, art galleries, and laboratories will be enormous, but not all will be lost, and microfilming can preserve much knowledge.
Several shifts of the axis have occurred in ages past, raising mountains and destroying landmasses, and the one at the close of this century will be less catastrophic than the one that wiped out Lemuria, although great harm will be done to present structures and the way of life. Not all of that is bad, for certainly there is too much selfishness, sin, and crime, and much of this will be dissipated with the shifting, since men will be more afraid of the elements than of each other. Times of great peril draw man and beast together in common fear of the unknown, and this will prove true in the late nineties when this shifting occurs. Some lands will disappear under tons of water, while others will emerge and soon be ripe for cultivation. Outcroppings of older civilizations will appear, to the intense delight of surviving scholars. This shift is not to be dreaded, but simply prepared for through spiritual rebirth.
So many will die that zero population goals will be abandoned and family sizes increased to provide a work force for the future. This will bring men and women of all races closer together as they work in harmony to rebuild vestiges of societies. New waterways will be cut, and some old ones diverted to new pathways as the lands twist and tilt. Schools of the future will teach youngsters how to read portents and omens, as well as graphic arts and the printed word, and many will choose scientology as careers of the future.
Now let us speak of that awesome event. When the axis shifts it will seem to earthlings as if the sun has not moved across the heavens from horizon to horizon, although the sun will of course continue in its normal revolutions. We here already see this event occurring, so we understand the implications. It will be well for those there to understand that it is not the end of the world, but a process of readjusting sunshine and rain, the sea and the land, so that some areas of the earth are refreshed and others put out to pasture, so to speak. There will be some seas where there is now land, and vice versa, ice caps in new places, and balmy breezes at the poles. When the shift occurs, the souls then on earth will be terrified and turn to God in their helpless fear, although some will unfortunately resume their nefarious ways. Yet on the embers of the devastated civilization will arise a better one based on brotherhood, and thereafter the return to earth of him who promised that when he came sinners would be separated from the near saints, and peace would reign for a thousand years. That time is not too far away, in the twenty-first century.
Those who fear death, whether from the shift of the axis or any other cause, should put it firmly from their minds. They fear the unknown, but they should realize that they are now in the actual unknown, whereas in many previous cycles they have been in spirit where we are now. Spirit is the normal pattern, whereas occupying flesh is an abrupt interruption of their spiritual being. If they contemplate the many risks they are now taking to meet karma and avoid amassing other karmic indebtedness each day of their lives, they will realize how truly brave they were to venture into the physical dimension. On this side where we are, the universal laws are such that we are relatively safe from temptations. Thus advancement is slower here, but also less risky in sliding backward from the goal of reunion with the Creator. We are in the natural form, spirit. You are in the abnormal form, for life began in our state, and we will eventually find eternal reunion from this state, so don't fear the transition termed death. It leads to normal being, free from handicaps and hurdles, and to eternal life.
Some religions teach of a heaven, a hell, and a purgatory. These are figures of speech for states of consciousness, because there is no place except here, where those in physical and spirit form intermingle. When we choose we can take on raiments and look just as we did when in the flesh, and it is then that we are sometimes glimpsed by earthlings who are able to describe our appearance. This is not usually an idle pastime, for it helps to establish the reality of continuing life. What we want to prove is that we are more alive here than in the flesh, because we are far more aware. The time will come before very long when those of you who wish to see us can develop mind pictures that will show on sensitive camera film, for we want you to know that we are available to comfort those in the difficult physical plane. Jesus of Nazareth comes and goes at will among those who need him or are in distress, for he is the perfect man who has free access to all seven planes, and to his Creator.
When man penetrates the mysteries of time and space he will have conquered the restraints of the flesh and be ready for higher development. This is all important to understanding Divine laws and the significance of one's own place in the universal plan. We here are unable to express it in terms you would understand, but it is there for the finding, and through meditation one will come to feel so much a part of the infinite that he will escape the confining restrictions of the physical body. Look then for a breakthrough in this field during the coming decade as science and medicine probe into inner man, and come to understand the importance of treating disease through ease and relaxation, for from our vantage point we see how the human species is tied in Gordian knots that restrict his mental and spiritual expansion. Relax, meditate, and feel a part of the whole of mankind, loving and blessing all that is good, and praying for destruction of that which is evil in man. This much we know: the two dimensions of spirit and physical being will become as one when universal law is more fully grasped. Feel the akinship with all of God's creations, and strive for that which is just. Banish fears, abolish angers, and work for the common good.
Material attachments are fragmentary at best, and none will feel regret who has prepared himself for this alteration of the earth's surface. True, what you earthlings term civilization will diminish as the earth changes wipe out the hydroelectric plants, the housing developments, the palaces, and the tenements, but these are illusory, for does not the Bible promise that there are mansions in heaven for all those who aspire to rightdoing?
Fear is not erased. Fear is dealt with, with courage. As President Roosevelt once said, 'The only thing to fear is fear itself.' When you realize that it's the fears that are making mountains out of molehills, and you look at the problem courageously, all of a sudden the mountains dissipate and you see them for what they are--molehills. Most human beings fear death, because to them what is beyond death is an unknown. Actually, they fear the unknown. When more people come to understand that death is merely transition into a greater freedom, they will fear it less.
Why do souls in physical bodies regret leaving them for a better spirit life? Solely due to their unawareness of the greater opportunity here for freedom and happiness. The Church has had much to do with this situation, with its dire preachings of hell-fire and damnation, and so have the old wives' tales of sleeping in the cold earth until judgment day, or of frightening apparitions that allegedly wander in the night. All are so false as to be degrading even to contemplate. All will live on, in self-judgment and greater striving for good, until the time when we are reunited with our Creator. Remember, a soul is imperishable, and no matter what occurs in the physical plane, the real you survives.
The shift will have its warnings. The weather will become increasingly violent, with heavy snowfalls, strong gales, and increased humidity. There will be rumblings beneath the earth, and the trees will sway. Shortly before the actual shift, there will be two specific types of warnings. The eruptions of ancient volcanoes in Mediterranean islands, South America, and California will result in pestilence, and shortly thereafter earth tremors of major proportions, affecting wide land-masses in northern Europe, Asia, and South America, will provoke tidal waves of monumental scope. These, then, will be the forerunners of the shift itself, and for days and nights beforehand the earth will seem to rock gently, as if soothing an infant in its trundle bed.
[The event itself will occur] in the twinkling of an eye, as the earth slurps approximately onto its side.
In daylight areas, the sun will seem to stand still overhead, and then to race backward for the brief period while the earth settles into its new position relative to the sun. Those who are capable of reaching safety will see the earth's surface tremble, shudder, and in some places become a sea of boiling water, as the oceans pour upon the land. Simultaneous explosions beneath the earth's crust will bring new land above the surface of the waters, as other areas are swallowed by the sea.
We ask that you picture a giant wave, higher than a ten-story building, racing toward shore. Impossible to escape it, so in that moment of terror it is well to put aside fear and think only of the good that is to come by passing into spirit. Conquer fear, and one has risen above the battle. Ferocious winds will howl across the land, and in areas that the sea does not reach it will be as if a comet had collided with the earth, toppling it out of its accustomed orbit. In nighttime areas, the stars will seem to swing giddily in the heavens, and as dawn breaks the sun will seemingly rise from the wrong place on the horizon.
To the survivors who had been living in torrid areas, it will feel like refigerated air sweeping all before it. But if the area was cold beforehand, the winds will feel like blasts from a fiery furnace. This effect will be temporary, and as the winds abate there simply will have occurred drastic climactic alterations. Those who previously were hot will now shiver, and vice versa. Since buildings in many areas will have been totally swept away, and even the trees felled as if by giant axmen, there will be little protective covering. All power lines will have snapped like jackstraws, severing commuications and electricity, and those who must dispose of their fallen comrades will have their immediate work cut out for them. Those in caves and low-lying valleys between the hills will have the best chance of escaping unscathed, so that entire families will survive. There will be some anguish and heartache, but also exhilaration in having withstood the ferocity of nature, and most of those remaining will feel that God saved them for a purpose.
[Many of those living east of the Appalachian Mountains will, as the shift nears] want to remove themselves to the other side of that natural barrier from the sea. This is not to say that the entire east coast will be buried under a sea of water, but rather that some parts of it will become ocean bottom as the waters roll in, and New York City will vanish. Remember that Atlantis will be rising, so that this will tip parts of the east coast downward as the upheaval occurs beneath the seas.
Florida will scarcely survive, except as scattered islands. The southern states bordering the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico will be drastically altered, including parts of Texas. In the West, the remainder of California will disappear beneath the broiling waves, and the Great Lakes at some point will empty directly into salt waters. We do not wish to pinpoint every alteration in the earth's surface, but those who want to remain in physical body will be thinking of moving to inland areas before the shift. We do not mean that the elderly should flee the sunbelt. Rather, they should give serious thought to whether it is worth the effort to make drastic alterations in life-style in their declining years. When the shift occurs, Canada will be in a warmer latitude, and much of it will be relatively safe from sinking or destruction by tidal waves. Not a bad place to be, for those wishing to stay on in physical form.
[Washington, D.C.] will be devasted, but not totally destroyed, and since it is near the mountains, government workers will carry on in the previously prepared shelters there, beneath and within the solid rock. Virginia Beach will strangely survive, as most other seaside resorts disappear. Whole areas of the eastern and western United States, England, southern Asia, and Europe will be deluged by water as Atlantis emerges, and parts of Lemuria will rise in the Pacific Ocean, even as Hawaii slides into the sea. These areas will then be in a colder climate, while frozen wastelands in the northern reaches of Russia, Europe, and Canada will become warm and humid, providing immense acreage for the growth of food and animal life. Some landmasses will be under water for millenia, but the Russian and Chinese survivors will revolt against their oppressive governments and become new frontiersmen in the best sense of the word. They will be the hardy pioneers, and perhaps because of the oppression under which they have lived, they will set an example in self-reliance for those who had been accustomed to softer living.
Those who fear the event should think of the exciting movies they have watched, such as Star Wars, and realize that they will be privileged to witness one of the greatest events of all ages. It is like a marvelous solar flare that would bring all out of their houses to watch, and to tell their grandchildren about, so why not feel the same way when one is actually a part of the great happening?
Those who survive will 'dine out on the story,' as the phrase goes, for the remainder of their lives, telling the new arrivals about it, and pointing out where there used to be land and now is water. Think of the thrill for those who have secreted themselves in caverns a hundred miles inland, to peer out the next morning and discover that they are now living beside the sea! Think of the survivors who will behold vast stretches of virginal land, where before the oceans rolled.
Those who pass into spirit will also have had an electrifying experience, and how they reacted to it will hasten or deter their spiritual development. Those who tried to save themselves at the expense of others will have to live with that karmic blot for a long time, since opportunities to undo the harm by reincarnating will be scarce for thousands of years. But those who gladly gave their lives in trying to rescue others will 'score Brownie points in heaven,' as the young people say...There will be much to commend this experience, so do not think of it as a diabolical era. The earth is in a state of evolution. The shift will be a continuation of the growth of Planet Earth, even as we souls are in and out of physical form, each time with new shells to serve that particular incarnation. Remember that without growth and alteration there is death, and nothing dies.
In order to achieve oneness with the Creator, one needs to polish his character, hone his talents, and shed the encumbrances that tend to hold him back from the greater freedom of the spirit realm. None who seeks that reunion needs fear the axial shift. Some will survive in flesh and others in spirit, and until one understands the purpose of the cleansing that results from a shifting of the earth's poles, he will be held back by fear.
As to the aftermath, there will be some frenzied weeks while the survivors search for their friends and ferret out debris for reconstruction. Those who have buried a supply of nails, hammers, and simple tools like axes in safe areas will have a head start in reconstructing makeshift dwellings. And since some food and seeds will also have been safely secreted, famine will be avoided, because there will be fewer to feed. Acreage that had been planted before the shift will produce yields of underground foods such as potatoes, carrots, onions, and radishes, and many cellars stocked with edibles will survive the shift's fury. Goodwill in working together will produce an almost festive atmosphere, and while some will grieve for lost ones, others will set to work to rebuild and help others.
...there will be some anguish in personal relationships, with the freeloaders and the greedy preying upon those who had foresight. Fortunately these deadbeats and spongers will gradually die out, for as we have said, a secret network will be developed...and through this network the good people will learn to refuse aid to spongers. They will also be warned of the approach of thieving mobs, who will be killed before they can loot the stores of the workers, and the world will be well rid of them. They will have a long time in spirit to rue their evil ways.
The twenty-first century will be a time of beatitude. All beings will work together to rebuild the shattered earth and renew its fertility, which will have been drastically affected by the alteration of the earth's poles. New lands emerging from the seas will at first be saline, but will soon begin producing quantities of exotic foods, and a new type of agriculture will emerge. Some areas that once were fertile will have become arid deserts or sea bottoms, and others which had been overproducing due to artificial fertilizers will wisely be left fallow for a time...The ability to read minds through mental telepathy will spread rapidly, outmoding some communication systems, and a peaceful age will flower.
In the twenty-first century arms will become virtually unknown, for man will no longer seek strife and turmoil, and his neighbor will be as himself. This is indeed the millenium, as foretold long ago. It will return men's souls to rule by God's laws, and will see a resurgence of the love force that is the glue of the universe. When conflicting theologies exist side by side there is strife, but when all are in agreement on how to govern and how to worship, there is quietude and peace. This, then, will be a momentous era well worth the anticipation of those who survive the shifting of the axis, and those who return to a new earthly turn of the wheel. It will be a time of tremendous spiritual advancement, as man turns his quest inward, rather than outward to technological advances that seem to ease the burdens of life, but in reality add immeasurably to those burdens.
If in a single day everyone would now lay aside all animosities, and put aside selfish motives, the world would be revolutionized by nightfall. Such is the power of souls acting together to effect favorable change! If man elected to do so, he could bring the twenty-first century's wonders to this pathetic century overnight, by deliberately altering his thinking. This will not occur in the present century, alas, but it will begin to occur in the next century, because after the shift of the axis, most will be cleansed of evil-thinking in the common desire to survive and rebuild. It is that manifestation [the shift] that will so shock humanity that man will devote himself to helping others as himself, and good thoughts will project to such an extent that it will seem like a new race of human beings. Actually, it is merely a demonstration of what right-thinking can do.
[The psychic seminars that are mushrooming throughout the world] are good for bringing to a focus the love of all humanity with the Creative Force of the universe. If people meditate together they are releasing energies that help to move the mountains of fear and anger....The time is ripe to begin planning survival communities that will enjoy tremendous popularity in the decades ahead, as people sicken of city life with its sterility of spiritual purpose and flee to the rural areas, where they can join like-minded people in raising their own crops, canning and drying foods, and finding intellectual stimulation in meditation and working together. These cooperative ventures will be of enormous benefit when patches of famine arise, and if war comes will produce quantities of food that otherwise would not be available. They are superb training grounds for New Age people who will work harmoniously and strive to raise the potential of the human spirit in each of those who participates. As for the fighting, if it occurs it will not go beyond the early 1990's, as said before, and will not involve the big nuclear weapons so rightly feared.
Signs of the coming shift will begin to appear later in that decade, as scientists probe with new instruments and discover signs of increased wobbling on the earth's orbit around the sun. There are those who will discount the public anxiety, but others will begin to prepare for the removal of the population to safe areas inland, away from high tensions wires and towering structures.
Snowfalls will increase as more moisture becomes trappd in the earth's inner atmosphere and winds come howling down out of the arctic. Summer will shorten for those in the Northern Hemisphere, and as the time nears for the shift, there will be noticeable changes in atmospheric pressure. Several years before the actual shift, scientists will be taking soundings and speaking of an increased wobbling of the earth. Volcanoes will erupt in several areas of the North American continent, as well as in the Caribbean and Mediterranean areas, and earthquakes will register more frequently on the Richter scale.
Safe areas will generally be away from the coastal regions with barriers of mountains between the secure land and the seas that will experience tremendous tidal waves. Some sections will sink of their own accord, so not all protected areas can be termed safe. Since some volcanoes will erupt in Mexico, Central America, and elsewhere, it is difficult at this time to foresee just where the destruction of the land as we know it will occur. Canada, except in coastal areas, will be largely secure, as will much of the central portion of America and the Great Northwest behind the Coastal Mountains. Europe will have its problems, because so much of the coastline is indented with small harbors and low-lying lands. The Scandanavian peninsula will enlarge, although at the time of the shift inhabitants should stay away from the coast because of high winds and tides. England will disappear, as will Holland and other nearby coastal regions. The northern parts of Russia and China will be secure, as we have said, and in the Southern Hemisphere some of the land areas will rapidly expand in dimension.
Canada and Russia will become warmer, as will parts of the United States, but other parts of it will become colder, as the earth skews about on its axis. South America will experience earth tremors and drastic alterations in formation as the Andes flatten at some points and shock tremors reduce certain land masses. The South Pole will be in a part of South America after the shift, and as Lemuria partly emerges from the Pacific Ocean, some of it will be frigid and some salubrious. Antarctica will become a new and larger land mass in a more temperate climate, and that is about all that we can foresee at this time.
The South Pole will be in the southern part of South America, and the North Pole in the Pacific Ocean at some point that we are unable now to pinpoint. As to Russia and Canada both becoming warmer, if you roll the globe in your hands you will see that this is feasible. As to the United States becoming warmer in some sections and colder in others, the east and west of the country will be in different latitudes. Indiana will be in one of the safer areas, as will Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Illinois, except where the latter approaches the Mississippi, as that corridor leading down from the Great Lakes will become a river bed.
The need is urgent for highly developed souls to provide leadership in this rudderless world, which at times seems to seesaw between despair and blind hope. These are times when leadership needs to assert itself with new approaches to old problems, and never before has there been greater urgency than now, with the shift approaching in less than two decades, as man measures time. The Walk-ins discussed in this book will become leaders, because they keenly sense the inner requirements for helping others to help themselves.
[Although some survival communities are already prepared to provide food and shelter for a mass exodus from the cities, others are thinking only in terms of their own preservation and soul advancement.] This then is the problem. They should be thinking not so much of saving self as of helping to ease the hardship of others, for when we understand what soul advancement is all about we realize that the best way to advance is to love others and help them along the way. These cooperative communities, just as Elizabeth is trying to do, should be thinking in terms of mass feedings and shelter, and there is little time to be wasted in preparing for these events. They should look to their larders and their potentials, but beware of those that are stocking guns! That is not the way to help others, but rather the way to look out for Number One.
We hope that what we are saying will inspire the realization of a national conscience as well as a group conscience. There is light on the horizon, and if war is to be avoided there will have to be a cadre of political thinkers and doers who avert these crises and smooth the troubled waters between nations. With so many Walk-ins assembling now throughout the earth, there is a possibility that they will find themselves in positions where they are able to put the lid on the simmering cauldrons of war.
Those who elect to begin now to look about for survival or New Age communities should bear in mind that the way will not be easy. It is not painless to learn to live in cooperation with others, exchanging foods and opportunities and sharing skills, but there is a satisfaction in it that has not been known since the early days before industrialization, when it was common practice for those with varying abilities to pitch in and help each other. In that way a cottage became a reality, or a field was plowed, or food exchanged by barter for other skills belonging to those with no acreage or talent for growing foodstuffs. It was a deeper satisfaction by far than sitting on assembly lines in a complex factory operation, or shuffling papers from one desk to another in skyscraper offices. Mankind began in close cooperation, and as living became more complex, individuals had less contact with other contributors to the common good, because work was varied and their paths seldom crossed with those in different trades.
This, then, is the opportunity for human beings again to learn fellowship along with productivity, and the inner satisfactions outweigh the problems of agreeing one with another. For some it will be a joyous period, and for others an irritant, but those suited for community cooperation will forge ahead, so that when the difficult times are upon you, they will be equipped as leaders to point the way. Some will not choose at this time to alter their current lifestyles, and that also is understandable, but they would do well in their spare time to be learning useful skills that do not require electricity. This is a necessity for survivors when the shift occurs, and power lines are demolished; and the storing of seeds, dried foods, tools, fishing reels and other paraphernalia for the simple life will be invaluable.
How to build and erect without power tools, how to grow and preserve foods, how to dry or tin them, how to memorize truths and wisdoms that are now in printed form, so that they will not be forgotten. Microfilms of books and documents should be secreted in safe havens, with well-circulated memos on where the material is stored, lest it be lost for many thousands of years, as it was in the sinking of Atlantis. There will be large areas of America remaining, including the Northwest behind the Sierra-Cascade Coastal range, substantial sections of the central and mountain states, New England away from the coast, the South away from the coastal areas. But remember that after the shift the Great Lakes will empty through the Mississippi basin to the Gulf, so some of the land in that area will be inundated as the shift alters the slope of the continent.
[Our changing weather patterns are already signaling the approach of the shift.] Spring will almost vanish, as winter plunges into summer, and the summers are foreshortened. At the time of the shift, vast areas will be so altered weather-wise that discontent will be widespread. Thermal underwear will be a commonplace rather than a sports item, and after the shift will become a dire necessity in many areas that were previously temperate. A good item to stock, along with the seeds and manual tools.
The New Age will bring joy and happiness unexcelled since the early days of the Atlantean era, when Lemuria was also still thriving, and when hearts were pure and ideals lofty. Those who survive the shift will be a different type of people from those in physical form today, freed from strife and hatred, longing to be of service to the whole of mankind and eager to serve the Creator. The souls who helped to bring on the chaos of the present century will have passed into spirit to re-think their attitudes, and the new race will engage in peaceful pursuits and the uplifting of spirit. Their minds will be open to the reality of one world, so that they will easily communicate with those in spirit who have not yet found vehicles [new babies] for earthly entry, but who will be able to help guide and plan with those who are cleansing and purifying the earth after the storm and fury of the shift.
They will bring in with them the awareness of life beyond the grave and the realization that it is simply a matter of vibratory levels, whether one inhabits an etheric or a physical body. Communication barriers between the two realms will be erased, for there are no barriers when one learns to open himself to the universal law. For those who begin now to prepare themselves for this time, there will be sure knowledge of how to preserve physical life if they so desire. It will be a wondrous era, and this condition is possible to achieve even in the dying twentieth century. It need not await the shift, for if love is given, cooperation is almost automatic, and wars would be as unthinkable as cannibalism.
