Monkee Vote Results
This short article appeared in Teen Beat magazine in 1987. With a top selling concert tour, the Monkees were not hard to find in teen mags at the time. It was a great time to be a Monkee fan.
The article also included an entry form to win the book Monkeemania.
The vote is in! Teen Beat received thousands
of ballots in our April issue’s "Monkee Vote!" in which you,
the readers, decided who you love best- The Monkees
(Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, Mike Nesmith and Peter Tork)
or The New Monkees (Jared Chandler, Marty Ross, Larry
Saltis and Dino Kovas). Well, as it turns out, most of
you still go bananas over Micky, Davy, Mike and Peter!
The Monkees won by a landslide (or should we say the
New Monkees kind of slipped on the banana peel? Sorry
about that, guys!) Anyway, 91% of you still go ape for
the Prefab Four while only 9% were willing to monkey
around with the new kids on the block!
So, since you love The Monkees so much, thanks to
