"Say goodbye, for this'll probably be the last time you'll see me." Me at graduation

Me with my most confused look ever at New Years.

No that picture wasn't taken at a party. It was taken by me putting the camera on top of the computer, me gazing into it, and pushing the button. Hey, not everyone gets invited to big millennium bashes.

Anyways, I am Joe S. owner and editor of this website. These next few paragraphs will give you insight into who I am, where I'm from, and where my fish lives. (Inside joke) Anyways, there is no one to compare me to. I am Joe. Plain and simple... or IS IT? See, I'm one who likes to look simple, but I am really quite complex. I have habits, patterns, and such, but that's just because I want to. I can change most things about my behavior whenever I want. e.g. I can go from 0-Psycho in 1.5 seconds.

Of course, being me has its drawbacks. I am nothing that can't be catogorized or figured out, but I'm not one to be thrown into the Misc. files. I am a little bit of everything all rolled into one. I'm a bitc.... no, I won't go there. I have Bach next my Beastie Boys, my favorite movie of 98 is the Artful Pleasantville while 99's favorite was the brutal Fight Club. The Great Gatspy lays right next to my Crichton novels. I am in touch with my light side and dark side and when they combine, hoo boy, look out! I'm an extremist in the change of humanity but in a conservationist way. Again, I am Joe.

My one great hobby is, as you all should know, watching tons of movies! My favorites are Raiders of the Lost Ark, Silence of the Lambs, Goldfinger, Contact, Fight Club, Amadeus, Pleasantville, Psycho, and Veritigo. Pretty varied, but I do have one preferred genre: The spy movie. I even liked some parts of the Avengers movie even though it pained me to see such a great show gone to such waste. It's the suaveness and sneaking around, man! As for other interests, I, like everyone else, enjoy listening to music. MY favorites Singers/Bands are Robbie Williams, Oasis, Foo Fighters, Beastie Boys, Garbage, Moby, The Propellerheads, and Fiona Apple. However, what I really love is musical scores to, you guessed it, movies. I love the work of John Williams, Randy and Thomas Newman,Grame Revell, Michael Nyman, and David Arnold. (Only heard of one of them. It's OK) It's good stuff ;-)! Next interest: writing! My major in college may be Editorial Journalism. Screw the truth! I want my opinion! I'm also working on a novel and two screenplays, though the screenplays require experience to be written. As for fave TV shows? Mystery Science Theater 3000! Wait, that got canned! Um, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine! oh, that got canned too, huh. Well, I guess Sports Night Other interests include: Playing basketball, pretending I can sing, dancing with myself, oh oh.... and learning stuff. (Believe it...... or NOT!)

I suppose if there's a hidden side to me, I guess it'd be my world at Mystery Science Theater 3000's Caption This! It's basically where you log on and make fun of stuff on the Sci-Fi Channel. (See Caption Gallery on this website) My handle is "JohnSteed." Reason: I liked the old show and we share the same intitials! I don't get on their often, but when I get in the groove, (especially on Anime features) I can be very funny, at least, I think so. It makes me able to slam inanimate things without really hurting anybody. (Hey, would you rather I slammed Shatner's singing or you?)

As for the love life, or lack of, nothing doing. I've had one girlfriend for 2 weeks in my lifetime and about 5 dates. I'm not a loser, I'm just a friendly guy, as in girls only want to be friends with me. It hurts yes, but I can live with the extra income. Hey, I don't know how long my graduation money will last! I have crushes 24/7, of course, but it's like a key where it fits all the way in the door, it just dosen't turn and unlock. Oh well, I've tried. Heaven knows I've tried. But I guess being sweet, personable, funny, deep, and (I've had this confirmed by many) cute isn't good enough. By the way, I'm not looking for internet relationships! Sorry, but putting your interests into someone so far away and vague is very wrong!

As you may have noticed on the quote above, I have graduated from High School. The event was well-celebrated by many relatives and even by a few friends. So what happens now? Where am I going to? Ames, Iowa. I'm going to Iowa State to major in Journalism and mass communication. Yea, me!!
