Amel the Spirit

This spirit aged. He became jealous of the bodies and abilities that people posessed, things he could not have, and, gradually, growing in his hatred of them, he forgot that he had ever been a mortal himself, believing finally to have always been a spirit forced to wonder forth the land without a body of his own to inhabit. He learned to draw blood in droplets from people's bodies, to strengthen himself not only with their sustenance but though their pain, torture and anguish. He became a vengeful trickster, drawing torment upon the living as a game, and bringing pain in an attempted to match his own, and finally was cast out upon the Egyptian land forever to wonder in torment of what he would not be given.
Upon the death of the Lady Irenia, he fused himself into a mortal form as he saught to kill her, and brought a "demoness" into the world, who is always unsure of her actions, of what's right and wrong for her, and struggles with the power that she now possesses. And he he sleeps again in her, delighted again in a mortal form, and driving her to a madness that neither of them can understand.
