Santano

~Santano~

Santano is a very attractive 16.2 dark bay Hanoverian stallion. Licensed in 1995 and purchased for the Celle State Stud. Santano then completed the 11-month government performance test at Adelheidsdorf with high marks and, we might also mention, barefoot. He received 9s for walk and scored 131.37 for rideability, a favorite mount of the test riders. Though purchased before closing ceremony, it was asked that he remain to lead the exhibition of the newly approved Celle Stallions under saddle at Niedersachsenhalle in Verden, Germany. In 1997 Santano was chosen for breeding by owners of some very special mares including: a full sister to Olympic Bonfire; a full sister to Weltmyer; a full sister to Weserstar (the 1990 German Bundeschampion); a winning grand prix mare; and several Elite mares.

Offspring of Santano WOW!:
The first foals are spectacular and receiving the highest comments at the AHS inspection tour. Lovely, uphill, elastic gaits were presented one after another. Comment such as "folks, this is what we are breeding for" and "It doesn't get much better than this!" Spring Craft by Santano out of Fortschritt was the winner of NEDA Fall breed show 1999 filly class.

Lineage:
Santano offers fresh bloodlines in the US and comes from a very prepotent mother line. Lustige, his dam, was a very successful riding horse in her youth, with excellent character; she will produce her 8th foal in Germany this year. She has produced an FEI dressage horse, an 85,000 dm auction horse, a states premium show winning mare, and Santano, by four different stallions. This is prepotency! This is what breeders want to breed or buy into.

Sao Paulo is very highly-regarded in Germany. His produce are excelling in the mare performance test, in the stallion performance test, and at the riding horse auctions. Even among his unapproved two-year olds, some are selling to top international trainers for sums as high as $70, 000!! We are not the only ones who have taken notice of this line.

Competitor:
Santano is developing under saddle quite seriously. Ridden by Verne Batchelder at first and second level, he earned wins and scores in the high 60s at Huntington, NEDA fall CDI, and CVDA fall. Santano is now preparing for fourth level in the year 2000. A wonderful start for this young stallion.
