Joey slowly got up from the ground where the rapist had left her. She was weak and had bruises all over her body. She crawled over to the phone. She thought about calling Dawson but couldn’t get up the nerve to talk to him and she didn’t have the strength. So she dialed 911 and waited.
911 operator: 911 what is your emergency. (no answer) Hello. What is your emergency? (Joey moans) Hello. We will have a patrol car there immediately!
Dawson is sitting around at home anxiously awaiting Joey’s arrival. It’s 1:45 a.m.
Dawson: Where the hell is she. I called the Ice House and she isn’t there. Where could she be? (His thoughts are interrupted by a phone call.) Hello?
Officer: Is this Mr. Leery?
Dawson: Yes, who is this?
Officer: This is Officer Lance. I am sorry to inform you that your fiancee was takin into Capeside Memorial Hospital at 11:30 this evening. We need you to come down here right away to answer some questions.
Dawson: What happened? Is she allright? Why wasn’t I informed earlier?
Officer: We will answer your questions when you arrive.
Dawson: I’m on my way.
Dawson grabs his car keys and runs to the car. While in the car on the way to the hospital he starts to pray to himself.
Dawson: (thinking) Please god. Let Joey be allright. Please don’t have let anything bad happened to her. I couldn’t handle it if she got hurt. I can’t bare to see Joey hurt. She is too important to me. God please let her be okay.
Dawson arrives at the hospital. He immediately runs into emergency and up to the counter.
Dawson: Hi, I am here for Josephine Potter. Please tell me she is allright.
Nurse: Sir, if you can please just take a seat and we will page the doctor so he can talk to you.
Dawson: You cant tell me anything? Please this is important. I need to know what happened to my fiancee.
Just then the doctor walks out.
Doctor: Is there anyone here for Ms. Potter.
Dawson: I am. What’s happened. Is she going to be allright?
Doctor: she is going to be fine physically. Its emotionally that she is going to need help with.
Dawson: Why, what’s happened?
Doctor: Well there is not easy way to break this to you sir. But Josephine was raped.
Dawson’s face drops even lower when he hears the word rape.
