Valentines Day is such a lot like Christmas
You have to think of those less fortunate than yourself
Like the people who have spent a fortune on flowers
While you are feeling left on the shelf.

The car radio spews out suicidally sickening songs
That leak out of the speakers like chocolate sauce
Makes you want to slit your wrists while driving
But you can’t cos you’ll crash of course!

Singledom on Valentines, surrounded by Hallmark cards
All addressed for those with other halves
So while they fight under the candle-light 
You can go out and have a laugh

Being single on Valentines 
All alone for another year
Scoff the chocolates you bought yourself
And drink lots of beer
