Driving to work
As I stop at the traffic lights I check the ladder in my tights And look up to see my face In the rear view mirror’s gaze When suddenly I spot a scary Woman In the car behind me Can’t see her smile As she’s parked up for a while Dressed completely in black Just a pair of eyes stare back Like some martial arts fighter I just stare back at her Driving to work It’s such a long way It’s a good job It’s such a nice day Driving to work Takes up so much of my time Driving along And standing in line I speed ahead in the fast lane But it is all in vain As all the traffic just stops again It’s such a pain To my left a girl is singing But the road works are winning A man dressed in a grey suit Who is on route To Birmingham airport But time is short He’s going to be late For his flight Driving to work It’s such a long way It’s a good job It’s such a nice day Driving to work Takes up so much of my time Driving along And standing in line I can’t wait to get to work Beats being stuck next to this jerk Sitting amongst the rows Of traffic, picking his nose A MacDonalds That would be good I could really use some food I’m starving Haven’t had any breakfast this morning I just want my coffee and chips Or cheese and onion flavoured crisps With a chocolate bar That would be great, ta. Driving to work It’s such a long way It’s a good job It’s such a nice day Driving to work Takes up so much of my time Driving along And standing in line
