7. I was Born in a Cocktail Bar

I was born in a cocktail bar.
My mother was sipping Margaritas
And knocking back tequilas
As I was delivered.

People lit their cigars in celebration
Of my birth,
As I arrived in this world
Shaken not stirred.

Barmen strutted and shook their stuff
As my mother’s waters broke
All she did was order another
Rum and Coke.

No one seems to care as
Sterile towels and my tears
Are mixed with Fuzzy Navels
And lime topped bottled beers.
