However, I feel I'm being downgraded. I had a moan to Chris about the fact that Project Managers was being changed to Project Administrators. I have this status thing, esp with high flying friends like mine! Now I have to think of a better word for Administrator!
Had a fab weekend. Friday afternoon, Dave and I went down to London (after a 12 hour power cut at his house, which we thought might kill the fish, but they survived!). It was his birthday, so we had Dave's Surprise Apparently! Got to our hotel in King's Cross, and just as we'd got to our room, Steve called to say that he was lost somewhere nearby, so gave him directions, and met him in the bar. Katie was running late, so we said we'd see her later. Dave and I met Jon at a pub next to Highbury underground, and went on to the Garage to see The Drum (the band formally known as China Drum). They were fab, and the lead singer had super spikey hair and semi scary eyes, but was sort of cute. Dave didn't know who he was going to see, as it was a surprise, but kind of figured it when they put The Drum banner up!
Back to the hotel, where Steve and Katie were in the bar, so we joined them, till it was time to go to bed.
Saturday, had breakfast, and decided Steve needed more coffee, so we went to somewhere in Leicester Square that sold bottles of water for £2.50, and coffee at some outrageous price too. Then we went to the Moon Under Water, where we met everyone else who was joining us for lunch. Soon, all 12 of us were there - Simon2 hadn't turned up by 12.45, so we went on to the restaurant without him. Went to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch, had some cocktails, then had a gorgeous meal. Post lunch, the waiter brought a birthday cake round for Dave, but he'd gone to the loo, and I was in fits of laughter when he returned. They eventually brought the cake round when he was there, and we sang happy birthday and got him to blow out the candles, without setting fire to anything! (He'd already got a massive box of matches, lighter fluid and candles as birthday pressies!)
Post Rainforest Cafe, we lost Maddy, Simon, Toria, Giles, Ed and Vikki, so it was just me, Dave, Steve, Katie, Rich and Jon left. Decided to go back to the hotel to get changed, and meet up again to go out clubbing. Katie was tired, and had to get up early on Sunday, so didn't come out with us.
We went to the Zoo Bar, where I cocktailed and the lads beered, then back to the Moon Under Water to meet Rich again. Then, we wondered around a Gadget shop, and then the lads played games at the Trocodero. Finally we got to go to the club - Scandals, but Jon couldn't join us, as he had to get the train back. So 4 of us went in. They were playing 70s and 80s music, so I was in my element. We lost Rich at some stage, cos he had to get the train back. We boogied away. Steve was wearing this net kind of top, and there were lots of men dancing near to him, so he said it was just the top they were attracted to, not him or his homosexual hair!! "It's Raining Men" came on, and I grabbed Steve by the hand and ran to the podium and jumped on in a kind of Queer As Folk style (it's my current phase - I love the programme, and am in love with Craig Kelly - OK, just lust!). It was fab - the highlight of my night, I even looked up at the ceiling at the end of the song QAF style.
We left the club around 2.30am and got a taxi back to the hotel, and stopped off for a dodgy KFC style (but not original) chicken meal.
Sunday, after breaky, got a lift back to Dave's with Steve, listening to Neil Diamond in the car!
A totally groovy weekend, and Dave seemed to enjoy it too, which is the main thing, seeing as it was to celebrate his birthday!
I'm popping in to see Wendy and Emma before they leave tomorrow morning - be really sad. I hope they find new jobs soon.
I really should do something about my MSc Project - keep nagging me will you!
I'll be back again soon - maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life (or something like that!)
