Dave and I are still together and it's been nearly 2 years unofficially. And the big news - After loads of faffing about, I've finally left monster.co.uk, the company formally known as the Monster Board. The faffing was when Darren was trying to sort out a job for me in his department, but the heirarchy of the company soon put a stop to that. So, I left, and I never got to speak to Karen, the big boss, but who cares!! I never really said much to her anyway!! My last day was really sad, but happy at the same time - Little Miss Ambivalent - The Mr Men people really should create that one!! Wendy and Emma the peops I work with had gone to loads of trouble and had got me pressies and flowers and had decorated the office with baloons and a board with loads of pickies of me on it with a sign saying something about employing me at your peril. I'm going to miss them and their singing and their jokes and stuff. Ah well as someone I know would say!!
So, now I'm back from outer space. No, that was wrong it was supposed to be: So, now I've moved and I'm here!! Where's here? I hear you ask. Well, here is at Wrox Publishing at Acocks Green, somewhere near Birmingham. I'm meant to be a Project Manager. It's only my second day, so you can't expect me to be managing projects yet!! Apparently the job entails making sure Authors get their work in on time to be edited and other things. Do you remember when I read "How to Talk to Boys and Other Important People"? I think that title is why I have to keep writing the 'and other things' when I run out of stuff to say. Don't ask where that came from!! My first day was pretty cool. Well, it would be, cos I didn't actually do anything, and I do like sitting around being paid to do nothing!! Well, I tell a lie, I did actually get to sit in on 2 meetings and was given lots of company bumph to read through, so I did do something. The second meeting was bizzare for me, 15 people sat around a table with a three pronged telephone, shapped like a ceiling fan sat in the middle of the table being worshiped. OK, so they only spoke to it and it spoke back!! And so there were 17 of us. The wonders of technology hey?
Anyway, it's now my second day and apparently today is the day that I am to learn the art of project management. Should be fun! Well, it's only 10.30 am and I haven't had to do anything yet, so I thought I'd write this up!
