I've just been for lunch with Steve2. He's starting his new job at Northampton next Wednesday, so he's going to be busy. Well, at least now he has witnessed what Acocks Green is like. I took him to the Italian restaurant - the one I went to for my interview lunch the second time I came to Wrox(an attempt to make me spill bolognase sauce down my front me thinks). The food was nice and it's got a cosy atmosphere, but enough of me being a restaurant critic.
Mum and Dad are re-decorating upstairs. They bought a pale blue paint for the walls and I got a new dustbin. I think the fumes from the stuff my dad put on the walls in the room next to the bathroom knocked me out last night and I had to go to sleep before I could watch the second part of Chicago Hope. I still can't believe Mark Harmon is still acting, and hasn't changed a bit, OK, so he's going a bit grey, but that's about it!
This morning, I had to put all my cuddley toys in a big box (they still haven't all fit in). I have to have a more mature room apparently, so off go the gorillas to the space known as the attic, along with all my teddy bears and other cuddley items, oh and Bruce the Moose and Ben and Andy and Roddy the teddies on my shelf, and Andy the redhead thing that my brother bought me for Christmas many moons ago (he got named after a waiter I fell for when we went skiing that Christmas with my brother's school) and Bobby and JR my teddy and cuddley dog I got when I was ickle. And the hedgehogs and the giraffey thing from Kuwait airlines. The bats are staying and I'm wondering if I can keep the curious George monkey my brother brought back for me this year from the States. Ahhhhh. I never really noticed them while they were around, but now they're being boxed up, it's dead sad!! Even my first teddy bear - my panda - has to go into the attic, it still has one of my nappy pins attached to it. I'm not taking this very well am I? Well, maybe I can replace them all with gargoyles and stuff. I'll probably end up going out and buying loads of new cuddley furry stuff. New start me thinks!
The guy who's standing in for Simon Mayo's mystery years keeps playing really nostalgic songs. And my guesses are getting closer. I get 2 years in my head, like this morning it was 1988 or 1989 and then I pick one and it's usually the other one that was the year, but I wont learn!!
Amazon books probably have me down on their most likely to become a serial killer list. I got the books yesterday, but I figured I'd better finish off my androids and electric sheep book first, so I started reading the first chapter of the female serial killer book, but now have to wait before I can get into it.
Job's really busy now, so don't expect to hear from me on a daily basis from now on. I'll try and fill you in on the details when I get a minute.
Dave's got his mobile phone back. Well, he always had it, but he locked it accidentally and didn't know how to unlock it, so finally he's phoned the company and managed to get it unlocked, so I can now call him when I want to and say silly things like - Watch BBC1 now, there's a programme on fish on.
This weekend is getting messy. My brother was supposed to come down for the weekend, so he could see his mates. Mum and Dad are going to Wales to see some friends, so my plan is to go out on Saturday night into Rugby, and Sunday to go to the cinema and watch all the films I've been meaning to see, but just haven't got round to it yet. But my brother doesn't know if he's going to be coming to Rugby now or not, so it's up up in the air like a beautiful a beautiful balloon (sorry, went off there)
Anywho, better get back to work, before I get a guilt complex about it.
