haven't written here for a long time. Mostly because I am either too busy, or just don't care enough to write in here. Also, I don't think anyone reads it anyway. Haha..

So this summer I am living in Papillion with my parents and working at the Ft. Calhoun nuclear power plant. The plant is located about 15 miles north of Omaha, which makes that about a 50 minute drive to work everyday. The job pays well, but I don't think it is too exciting. It is good experience though.

The summer is about halfway over by now. I am looking forward to coming back to Rolla and starting school again. I don't think I like working that much. School is different, no set hours, not so scheduled. I like that.

This summer I get to be Sarah's maid of honor! I am so exitied. July 11th is the big day, which is on a Friday. I am going to take off from work July 10th as well for the rehersal type stuff. And Wednesday night (July 9th) is the bachlorette party. That is all going to be so exciting! Sarah and Casey are such wonderful people and I am happy to be a part of their wedding day! We already held a shower for Sarah at the end of May. That was a good time.

At the end of this summer my family is planning a trip to Cedar Point, Ohio. Cedar Point has a huge rollercoaster park. My dad, sister, Andy, and I are all going. My mom doesn't like rollercoasters. We still haven't worked everything out yet.

For July 4th I am planning on going down to Rolla. Andy and my friends are there. I am really looking forward to that.

So after the wedding, I will only have a couple more weeks until I am done at work here in Omaha. I think I will be done with work on August 14th. On the 15th we are planning to leave for Ohio.

I'm really lazy and haven't written in here all summer. This summer I've been working aabout 20 hours a week and taking 2 classes. Everything went by fast.

I am living in my new house now. It is da bomb diggity yo.

I really want to go on vacation. I just want to go somewhere and stay in hotels and eat out all the time.. that sounds like fun to me. But I dont have that much money to blow. So instead I will hang out in Rolla and it will be a good time... hmm.

I played soccer this weekend! Woohoo. There was a "Zeta Soccer Tournament." The games were 4 on 4, and one girl was required to be on the field for each team at all times. We were da bomb diggity and won the tournament. WOOHOO. We were the only non-frat team to enter.. take that all you stupid 'i am sooo cool' frat boys. Haha.. yeah it was a good time. I got really burnt though.. I haven't been this burnt in awhile. Even after two days, all my muscles hurt.. but I will be alright.

On Saturday night, we went to the KMNR DJ training party. It was a good time. Luckily it was dark so noone could see how red I was.. haha..

I got back from New York a little over a week ago. I had a really good time. I went shopping on Fifth Avenue, walked around Times Square, saw the Statue of Liberty from a distance, saw the broadway play 'Rent', and probably some more stuff I can't think of.

'Rent' was a really good play. I'm not the play expert or anything, but out of the plays I have seen that was the best one. The set wasn't very extravagant or anything.. the music was great. I think I liked this play better than others is because it was based on real people with real situations... I dunno.

I saw the World Trade Center site. I thought maybe if I went there I would have more of an appreciation of what happened.. but really it didn't help. Not that I don't have any appreciation.. I just don't feel as stongly about it as other people. I was surprised to see the damage done to the buildings around the World Trade Center... I never see that on TV.

Jeremy was really nice to let us stay at his apartment. His apartment was in a great location... someone around 6-10 blocks from Time Sqaure.. which is right by Fifth Avenue.. it was great.

Well now that New York is over, there is not a whole lot to look forward to. I registered for classes today and got every class without having to be put on a waiting list... thats the first time that has happened. I have the best schedule next semester. I think I am the only one who really cares about y schedule that much.. but I think it plays a very important role in the next semester. Every semester your habits change.. I think that is very exciting.

I'm going to New York City tomorrow... woohoo. I am excitied. It should be a good time. Yeah..

This week is good. We have St. Pats break, which means Thursday and Friday off. St. Patrick is the patron saint of Engineering, and it is made to be a big deal around here, there is a parade and lots of parties. Andy and I are planning on going to his parents house at least one day during the break, and will maybe goto see one of his friends in St. Louis, we will see. Three day weeks are da bomb diggity.

New York City is just a little less than 2 weeks away.. WOOHOO. I really don't want to do all that touristy stuff, I want to just hang out in New York. I wish I was 21 so I could go into the clubs.. and order a "Cosmopolitian" like Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex in the City. Haha. I guess I will just have to deal with it. I want to goto Soho and maybe Greenwich Village. Also, Fifth Avenue would be fun. I want to see the World Trade Center Towers also. I feel that being here in Missouri and just watching it on TV has not had a big effect on me. I would liek to see them in person. I think that will help me appreciate things more.

The new thing Andy and I have gotten into is "Queer as Folk". It is a show on Showtime, but we rent it from Blockbuster. It is pretty good. Similar to Sex in the City with gay men, and more of a drama, not so much comedy. There is a lot of nudity sort of stuff in it, like two guys going at it, but you can't see their "penile units" haha. But you can see all skin. Just things like that. There is one lesbian couple in the show, Andy seems to enjoy them. Haha.

Wassup in da hoood? I have nothing to do tonight, so I am pumped. I'm gonna work on this for a little bit.. get a couple people added. :) I am going skiing two weeks from today! WOOHOO.

Yesterday I spent all day looking forward to the frontega chicken sandwich at St. Louis Bread Co. They were out of them.. so today I go back, they run out of frontegas while I was sitting there waiting for some people. Now that sucks. All I want is a Frontega Sandwich.

My weekend was pretty laid back. I watched 16 episodes of 'Sex in the City'. I didn't really realize how good that show was until this weekend. Andy and I rented them from Blockbuster. What kind of name is 'Blockbuster' anyway.. hmm... 'Block'.. 'Buster'... We also went over to Laura's and played Tetris from 2 hours. The kind of tetris where you play against someone else. Also there is a little guy that you have to save from the spikes...yeah.. its fun.

We also watched "Trainspotting". I dont really like watching people stick needles filled with heroin in their arms. That kinda bothers me... The thought of sticking something in my bloodstream.. ewww.

Also we painted the trim in Andy's living room. Oh that was exciting. Now the other bedroom is next. I make it sound like a lot of work, when really I don't do all that much...

Andy and I (all my sentences seem to have "Andy and I" in them.. or something similar..) are coming to Omaha this Wednesday and leaving on Sunday. Should be a good time. The problem with Omaha is I always spend money there.. hmmm..

By the way.. I know the whole dance to the chorus in "Crazy". I look just like Britney! Well.. not quite.

I am back in Rolla as of 12/30/01. For New Years, Andy and I went up to Columbia, Missouri. They have a celebration downtown. An 'a cappella' (not sure about spelling..) group called '4 Shadow' was singing. The group was composed of four guys. They sounded really really good. I'm gonna have to see if I can find some of their MP3's.

I started working again. I only work 5 or 6 hours a day, so it is not bad at all. Also, this gives me more time to do other things, like learn the dances to "Bye Bye Bye", "Crazy", and "Give it to You". Yeah, I got that video for Christmas, the one you see on MTV with the choreographer who shows you how to do that dances. The first 15 minutes are all about the choreographer's life, like we care. But after that it is all good. I think it'd be cool in a dorky sort of way to learn those dances. haha.. Also, I have more time to read. I was never a big reader until this summer, when I read the Harry Potter books. Now I am into books about sarcastic teenage girls. My favorite one so far was "Pure". I don't remember the authors name. Also, "Sloppy Firsts" is a good one. I'm in the middle of "Brave New Girl" which is very good so far. I'll have to get back to you on the authors.

12/24/01

I am currently at home for Christmas. I got here yesterday and am leaving Friday (12/28/01). I have not been doing much. I saw some people I know from high school, all of whom I didn't want to talk to me, and luckily none of them did.
