Gor is a Harsh World, where the Priest Kings dictate the level of advancment the people of Gor receive. On the low end of the Tech spectrum, Goreans must rely on swords, daggers, spears and crossbows for protection of Hearth and Home. Though there are other assorted weapons the Goreans rely mostly on those stated. Wars are common and most arguments are delt with by the blade. To cap your name means you wish to be a Citizen of Gor..(smile) But to be a Citizen of Thentis one must be True Gorean. Firm even Harsh of neccesary. If your seeking a boyfriend or a girlfriend, this Room is not for you, and it would be best for all if you sought out a weaker place.
Punishments of slaves are quick and harsh on Gor, and it may be for any reason..or none whatsoever. It is completely up to the Master of the slave for what punishments occur. Neither the City, the Ubar nor nay other may stay the hand of the Owner. Though sometimes it is better for the punishment to fit the crime..but it is not neccesary. Do not show weakness to a slave..for they will not respect you for it in the least..no matter what they say to your face. In the Absence of the Owner ANY Citizen Member of the City may punish said slave, but to do so the complete transcriped should be sent to the slave's Master. If the Owner finds fault in the punishment then it should be taken up discreetly with the Punisher..if there is still a problem then take it with the Council Chair of your level...if there is no realiable mediation then come to the Ubar for Judgment. In Gor Any Citizen may punish ANY girl for indiscretion and thus so it is here.
All Citizens are encouraged to be in the City as often as possible, this shows several things..One the Citizen's Commitment...Respect, and drive to make the City as great as it possably can be. The Ubar and the Inner Circle does notice such things and one will find that living in the City has it's rewards. Without the Citizens no City can survive, so All are important..from the slaves to the Free Citizens.
Citizens may not take a slave out of the city to go into icq to cyber without the express permission of the slave's Owner. This is just politeness and Respect to the Owner. But it is also to try and keep the Citizen Frees and Citizen slaves within the City. An empty City is a dead City
A word about silks. White silk slaves does not mean thier exclusive to only one person..it means they're virgins to both the Gorean way and/or virgins period. It is NOT Gorean to make a slave exclusive to only you..slaves are not put on pedastles or treated like princesses..this is Gor not BDSM. As such a slave is allowed white silks to train, after her training her virginity is raffled off in a contest to the Citizen Frees..Unless she is a white silk who specificly belongs to another..in this case her virginity may be taken by her Master. Second..Yellow Silks refer to pagasluts, girls who serve in taverns..Well Thentis is not a Tavern..as such there will be no yellow silks. There instead is Grey silks..City-State owned slaves who wear grey silks..they serve any and all. Of course red silk slaves will make up the majority of the silks...as red silk means simply a slave who understands the ways of Gor and have been used..so thus is not a virgin any longer...sorry to dissapoint you folks..this is Gor. There is no big fancy meaning behind the red silk..what many people forget the the pagar kajirae..The pagar kajirae is the pleasure slave..born and bred to serve in any way a Man wishes..a red silk slave is the mainstay of slaves in Gor..not the best skilled kajirae..pagar.
Free Women are always at Risk of being kidnaped and forced into slavery..while most Free Women who behave correctly are not in danger, there is always danger to those who act in a disrespectfull way..there is two ways for a FW to be protected..one to have a FC who is strong enough to protect you, or be taken into the House of the an Inner Council Member as His Concubine
In Thentis if a FW's behaviour is deemed disrespectful She will be instantly collared. No warning needed. This is Gor.Gor is harsh.
The Council System is easy to understand. Thentis is a City, as such in the back of one's mind one must understand there is thousands of more individuals then actual Member Citizens..thus the Member Citizens hold Council seats on each level of the City Bureacracy. The first level of City politics is the Guild Council:
DISTRICT COUNCIL: This level of the Citizenship deals with the mainstay of the City..handling and recruiting new members into Castes and Guilds. In this way the newer members can feel a sense of Comradship in Caste and Guild. It also gives a sense of continuity, there is nothing wrong with being unique..but it is better to be of a group. The Ubar Himself is of the Warriors Caste, one of His Caste Brothers sits on the Inner Circle, Lord Snakeman..they both are Warriors..and yet they both are unique. The leaders of the Guild Council have the right to decide whether to immediatly allow a applicant to join the Council or put them on a probationary period. This is still at the descretion of the Ubar. Lt.s and wing commanders of the military are also of this level.
OBSIDIAN COUNCIL: The main group of the Obsidian Council are made up of War Leaders, Flight Commanders, Gatekeepers (Both the Chief and the Senior) and Guild Leaders. These People directly deals with the Guilds of the Lower Council and the protection of the City. They may only recruit from the Guild Council or under special occasion directly from an applicant, with the permission of the Ubar. The Guild Leaders of this level should work with the Guilds of the lower council to build up and organize thier respective guilds.
INNER CIRCLE: The Inner circle deals with the City as a Whole. It is thier job to make policy, deal with Infractions of Citizen Members, and make the laws that govern the City as a Whole. The Membership of the inner circle are not usually flexible. But openings would be made for true Goreans who have proven time and again to put aside thier own concerns for the welfare of the City. All new recruits of this Level of politics will be voted on and chosen by the Circle from the Obsidian Council or by agreement of applicants.
