Hum in Chicago 1998

Uh, it was actually disappointing. Christ. I mean, setlist wise, it was like any other average Hum show except for Pinch & Roll.

aside from the fact that this dude i know (jeff, not dimpsey, he's expected at hum shows) was there, it was probably one of the worst Hum shows i've seen.
the crowd was a bunch of asshole starting shit with security. i also didn't have a human drum kit, which sucked. i had to fucking smoke resin to get fucked up (before the VO and Beam). i hate smoking resin, i understand it's part of a stoner's duty but shit...... my friend markito was fucking trashed and was nearly shouting everything he "whispered".
i guess the atmosphere brought me down. also, there was once a post about a guy jerking off at the Metro show. No such luck this time. I'd pay good $$ to see some guy, in a mosh pit, drag that snake from his trousers and pump it. i'd film it and sell it and make triple what i paid to see the spectacle for. Superjesus wasn't bad, but Polara....my fucking sweet christ. if anyone enjoyed it, feel free to fucking bludgeon your stupid self. whenever a keyboard is brought on stage, expect bad shit. general rule of thumb. and on top of it all, the boys didn't seem fucked up tonight, and i didn't see any drumsticks break. on a positive note, i didn't hear any shouts of "BOY WITH STICK".
i heard one for diffuse, which is cool. overall, a stick-less crowd.
attached is something you all should read i suppose the only time i will probably see Hum all summer. and it was shitty.

Tonights Chicago show was the best sounding most fluid gig ive seen since 10/30/97 at the fireside bowl.Yes, the setlist was typical, but it clocked in at 1:22mins, the longest ive seen in a while. Some songs had extended jams added....One more note after the main set, before the first encore they noodled a police song, "walking on the sun" im pretty sure...hum addict that resin will kill you.....dont believe the hype, this was a great show...

last nights show was boring. that's all i can say about it. ive seen enough hum gigs to be able to distinguish the really good shows from the okay-to-boring shows.. and sorry kiddies, this one didnt do much for me.
perhaps if the crowd had been a bit more interesting.. the security guards were dicks, from where i was and what i could see ((i was in the front so i cant tell you firsthand what it was like in the 'pit')) and i just had to laugh at the entire night. they should have thrown in something atypical.. while i cant say that it was bad, becos seeing hum live cant be *bad*, i cant say it was the best theyve done. i tend to get more into the sets when the crowd is into the show like i am.
detroit was cool. minneapolis was cool. im going to try to make it to the iowa city gig. ill write out the setlist myself, dammit. ;) i cant end my live hum period with this show.i suppose i cant be entirely objective about this show cos if id only seen the band once before or not at all id most likely have a different opinoin. whatever. hum are still cool live though. they have a good sound.. jeff was really rocking out last night. ..another thing, it was odd to see the band doing sound before the set themselves.. so used to seeing mark. ive never met/seen colin before, i dont think so atleast.. was he at the show last night?
does anyone know when he starts touring with them again?

i just spilled carmel corn on the floor. fuck you too.
*jaime.
