My Chemical Romance News from Mikey

Mikey left a message on My Chemical Romance's MySpace Blog and I thought I would pass it on. Here goes

" well, it's been a while... today is march the 5th, and in just one day, me and the gang are going to the airport. Upon arriving at the airport, we will then go through the security checkpoint. After the security checkpoint we will wait in front of our gate for an hour or so before finally entering the plane. About seven hours after the plane takes off we will land in sunny los angeles. Time for album number three everyone, and I'm so excited that i could scream. Im so proud of the new songs that we have written, and cannot wait for you all to hear them. There are some suprises....plenty of " oooohs and ahhhhs". Everything is bigger, louder and lovelier. I highly doubt anyone will be disappointed.."

MTV News Reports on Progess in the Studio- March 14, 2006

MCR's management confirmed to MTV News that the band has begun work on a brand-new album with producer Rob Cavallo, the man who has helmed each and every Green Day album since their 1994 breakthrough, Dookie. Basic writing and demoing sessions got underway last week at the Paramour, a 70-year-old hilltop mansion overlooking Los Angeles. "We're working on stuff, just getting it together and making demos. And from what we've got so far, I think the record is going to be awesome," Cavallo said in a brief phone interview with MTV. "The songs are wicked. There's some really dark stuff, and some touches of Queen and the Doors. And there's some really experimental parts that sound a bit like System of a Down. But all of that is mixed with a big shot of My Chemical Romance." Cavallo said that the plan is to work on the new material until April 10, when he and the band will hit an undisclosed Burbank studio. He added that while it's still very early in the process, the record is already veering into the category of a concept album (something Way hinted at back in February of last year; and it already has a tentative title: The Rise and Fall of My Chemical Romance. "There's a lot more to be said, but it's too early to say it," Cavallo laughed. "I just wanted to give fans a taste of what's to come."

A Word From the Guys- March 22, 2006

This came from the My Chemical Romance blog on MySpace.

To all the friends we've made,

Thank you so much for your love and support, your letters and twizzlers, your homemade awards and creepy stuffed animals. Over the past few years you have touched our hearts and let us know we are not alone in this world. For awhile now we have wanted to let you all know how much you mean to us.... something from our hearts to yours. We decided making each and every one of you a plate of brownies was not the answer.

So instead we decided to let you in on our story....the truth about everything. Where we came from, what we've been through, and who we truly are, 5 friends who tried their best to make a difference in this world. Thank you for listening, screaming, dancing, being yourself, and for making us a part of your lives. Know that when you say "MCR saved my life.", the feeling is mutual. When we felt too tired to carry on, you gave us purpose to continue. We are forever thankful for all of you. So enjoy this chronicle of the past few years, and lets dry our eyes and move on together.

Xoxo

My Chemical Romance Involved in Car Accident- Aug 6,2006

According to Gigwise.com, last Thursday, Bob Byrar and Gerard Way were injured in a car accident. Bob who was the most injured of the two suffered some third degree burns, supposedly on his back of his legs, back, and hands. Gerard suffered a broken ankle.

MCR was scheduled to play the Street Scene Festival in San Diego but had to cancel because the pain was too much for them to go on with a preformance.

ChartWise.com Talks About The Black Parade

We told you last month that My Chemical Romance's forthcoming The Black Parade was a concept album revolving around a character called "the Patient," and now we can reveal the song titles that tell his story. The October 24 Warner Bros. release will feature 13 songs, including the first single, "Welcome To The Black Parade." That track, accompanied by a 20-minute interview with the band and several snippets of other songs from the album, can now be purchased and downloaded from iTunes. The New Jersey goth-punks worked on the follow-up to 2004's Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge with Green Day producer Rob Cavallo. The new album's cover features the band's logo and a marching, baton-wielding skeleton who, appropriately, is dressed in black to lead The Black Parade. My Chemical Romance will tour Europe in November. No North American shows have been announced. Here are the songs on The Black Parade: "The End" "Dead!" "This Is How I Disappear" "The Sharpest Lives" "Welcome To The Black Parade" "I Don't Love You Like I Did" "House Of Wolves" "Cancer" "Mama" "Sleep" "Teenagers" "Disenchanted" "Famous Last Words"

My Chemical Romance On Tour

FMQB reports Feb 24,2007

Though My Chemical Romance have been playing live on and off since last fall's release of The Black Parade, mostly at festivals, the band has finally launched their own headlining trek to fully present their vision of the record brought to life. MCR unveiled their concept of "The Black Parade" as a completely separate band, playing two sets under two identities. The first hour of the show they are The Black Parade, performing the entire album in order. Frontman Gerard Way tells MTV.com, "The most exciting thing about this tour is that it's the first time you're really seeing The Black Parade as a band. And yet you're never gonna get alienated because you're also gonna get My Chemical Romance." The show's set also brings to life the artwork of the record, with the band wearing the matching, marching band uniforms that signify their alter ego. "It's a fine line between having a really good show that will be remembered," said drummer Bob Bryar, "and letting all that other stuff become the show. I think it's more special if we let the focus always be on us." "We're so over the top anyway that why would we want somebody else up there hamming it up?" Way jokingly added. "I'm ham enough, you know?" For the last half hour of the show, however, the band morphs back into My Chemical Romance for a half hour of material from their first two records. MCR will be on tour until late May, with Rise Against opening the first leg of the tour and Muse opening the second half.
