OUR ENABLING PASTOR Fr. Bob English <>

Fr. Bob English is my Pastor, at Mary Our Queen Parish in Omaha, Nebraska. He comes from a family of six with two older brothers and a sister. His mother lives with his sister Jeannie and her family in Omaha, NE. His father is deceased. He went to grade school and high school in Yankton, South Dakota, and then entered college to receive a degree from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion.
He worked ten years selling real estate and then computers before deciding to enter the seminary to study for the priesthood. He studied at St. Paul Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota for five years and was ordained a priest in 1988. He was an associate pastor at St. James and Mary Our Queen parishes of Omaha, Ne. He has been a pastor at St. Mary's in Spencer, NE and then at St. Rose of Lima/St. Joseph in Crofton/Constance, Ne. He has now returned to Mary Our Queen as Pastor.
For a Deacon vocation and program to work successfully, a Pastor must be enabling, supportive, and provide visionary leadership. Fr. English has all of these qualities and many more. If you want to ask a Pastor about his perspective on having deacons in his parish, call him at 402-333-8662 (or e-mail: r.english@maryourqueen.omhcoxmail.com).
OUR ASSOCIATE PASTOR Fr. An Duy Phan

Reverend An Duy Phan was born on May 8, 1979, in Vietnam. His parents My Phan and La Vu now reside in California. He has six sisters and one brother.
Father Andy (as he likes to be called) received his priestly formation and education at these locations: St. Gregory the Great Seminary, Seward; Conception Seminary, Conception, Mo.; Mount St. Mary Seminary, Emmetsburg, Md.; and the Institute for Priestly Formation at Creighton University in Omaha. His summer assignments before ordination on June 3, 2006 included St. Vincent de Paul Parish and St. Peter parish, both in Omaha. His first assignment as a Priest was to Mary Our Queen Parish, Omaha.
Fr. Andy reflected on his ordination this way: “For me, priests are men that God calls in a special way, giving them a special mission to save souls. Being from God, the priestly call requires a man to remain in God in order to carry out this mission successfully. Remaining in God means first of all that the priest must be holy and faithful to the church.”
