NDKA Month By Month

we did it

It's what you learn after you know it all that counts.
--Attributed to Harry S. Truman

Many, many THANKS go out to the Jamestown Kindergarten team for a very successful turn out at NDKA's 2011 Fall Conference. For those in attendance, we hope you have been putting some of those ideas into practice.

Teachers continually have to adapt to changes in their classrooms to meet the needs of children. We also have to stay current with updates in many areas of curriculum to give our students the best education available from our wonderful North Dakota Kindergarten Teachers.

It is important to experience the changes that are going on in the world of education. It is your duty to create in yourself a new birth of enthusiasm that a conference can give you. The NDKA Fall Conference can give you the enthusiasm that you need to show the students your love for learning.

The Grand Forks K-Team and NDKA are working to put together a wonderful FALL conference for you all to enjoy.

Books for Babies

Summer 2009, NDKA made our second annual donation to "Debbie Stromme's BOOKS FOR BABIES" for a total of $400.

Debbie Stromme was the second NDKA president and one of the "founding mothers" of NDKA along with Arlene Gunderson, Sue Kvamme, and Janet Merrill.

Debbie passed away April 4, 2008 from Lou Gehrig's Disease. Debbie founded a book project in Devils Lake called "Books for Babies." The purpose of this project was to donate a book to newborn babies at the Devils Lake hospital. Debbie wanted to make sure parents know the importance of reading to their child starting at a young age. The teaching staff at Prairie View Elementary School in Devils Lake renamed the project to
"DEBBIE STROMME'S BOOKS FOR BABIES."
