•     .gif files can be animated, .jpg files cannot
•     .gif can have a maximum of 265 colors, .jpg files use millions of colors
•     .gif files are used for drawings, while .jpg files are used for pictures

Why should one use Headings (<h1>...<h6>) rather than selecting bold or font size? 

One should use Headings because the web site viewer will have the option of adjusting the font size.

How do you find out the HTML used by the web designer for the web page that you see in your browser?

To find out the HTML code used by the web designer, click on the View, then select Source from the dropdown menu.
